Then the other JW cop-out is the saying that God protects his people as a "GROUP", not necessarily individuals.

"Time and unforseen occurence"...a Witness loophole Scripture when your Sh## out of luck!
by Witness 007 ini hate this scripture!
it's a loophole....jehovah is of course protecting his servants but when one of his pioneers or elders is hit by a runaway car and killed it was just...."time and unforseen occurence...".
yes jehovah will look out for you if you pray to him, but.....the "time and unforseen occurence" clause may still get you in the end!.

Glad you are back in civilization to resume contact with all of us. Even though, it appears that you were enjoying life in the wildersness just fine without all of us.

My sincere sympathy about this death. A death of anyone close is a loss, but especially a child. I hope that you and the family will be able to cope this sad loss.

I have some who like me, some don't care, and some hate me. Some who hate me, like my parents, were vocal in telling me that I am no longer one of their children. Even until their death bed, they reminded me of the hate they had towards me. That really hurt. Others I know that hate me talk behind my back, mainly certain elders. These I really don't care about because I usually never trusted them.

That is difficult. Some members are so entrenched that nothing can stop them. I remember a long time ago working in field service with a brother who would talk to anyone about the message. Unfortunately the only way to stop him was to either accept what he was offering or be extremely unpolite and kick him off the property. The truth eventually drove him crazy and he went down the street yelling out that Armageddon was here! The police had to drag him away to a mental hospital. I never saw this brother again.
If the brother is at all polite then your s.i.l. would be able to change the topic to a nonreligious subject like, "Did you know that they are developing a car that will run on compressed air?" Faithful jw are taught to change all topics to God's Kingdom, therefore select a topic that is difficult to connect to their message. Then know as much as you can about the subject(s) to keep control of the conversation.

It was sure nice of Melita sharing that valuable information, especially that this forum is being watched by the WTBS. Maybe they will see that changes in the organization need to be made based on the statements within this forum, a more brighter light is necessary.
I remember when a church member came to my house inviting us to an Easter celebration. He stated that his church was more loving than any of the other community churches. When I said we were jws, he repeated condemned us to hellfire. Do you think we wanted to even consider going to that Easter celebration? Same thing Melita, do you think by condemning one to the destruction of the Great Day of Jehovah, that this would reach anyone's heart? Your statements go contrary to the drama that was presented at the 2009 District Conventions. Do you think that the son would want to come back to his father if his father repeated told the wayward son that he was going to be destroyed at Armageddon and needs to return?

How many of you have seen situations where the ELDERS DISAGREED?
by BonaFide ini have spent literally hundreds of hours discussing with the c.o.
or other elders how some of us elders disagreed with a certain elders' actions and what could be done about it.
or that a certain elder was doing a certain thing, or acting a certain way.

I remember the 4 to 7 hour elder meetings. The congregation never knew of the fighting among the alpha elders during those elder meetings. I remember once where one of the alpha elders called the co about having the po removed as an elder. He needed the other elders to side with him during the next visit of the co. It was so funny when the co sided with the po to the dismay of that elder. It was definitely a kodak moment to capture the surprise and shock on that elder's face after all the manipulating he did.
Some circuit overseers were really good and some tried to force their personal opinions down the elder body. I remember some of the elders disagreeing with the co, resulting in the stepping down of one of the elders because of this. This elder did not like voluteering his time to help the congregation then get yelled at by the co for not being in his seat and listening to the co Tuesday talk. This elder instead was handling a matter in the second hall with a brother to make sure that the sound was working properly.
Actually it was fun giving talks and encouraging the congregation, but it was heart sickening the battles within the body and even with the circuit overseer.

All Ex-Elders, Mr.Flipper going to Final MeetingW/Elders! I'll be careful!
by flipper inhello ex-elders, onthe wayout, snakes, and wilyloman, just to refresh about a month ago i told you all that the appeal committee had overturned the disfellowshipping decision by the original jc as the appeal committee got a hold of me by phone and told me the society gave them direction in this.
i have since explained the situation to my witness mom and dad, 80 &82, they are good with it.
i am taking copies of the counsel you ex elders gave to me to be careful about what i say at this "alleged encouragement" meeting and promise you this, i'll watch my words carefully when they ask me questions.

"Special" campaigns a cause of JW malaise?
by sir82 inone of the principal problems the wts has is, how do they motivate the rank & file witnesses to do more in the preaching work?.
over the past 3-4 years, one thing they have tried is a series of "special" field service campaigns.
two or three times a year, there is a concerted effort made to cover all the congregation's territory with district convention invitations, memorial invitations, "special" tracts, etc.. but, in effect, with these special campaigns comes along a subliminal message that the society expects, indeed demands, that it will be a colossal failure.. for example, consider the campaign to invite the public to the district convention.

Even though they encourage magazine placement with the special campaigns, many witnesses just distribute the tracts. So even though the tracts are cheaper than books, brochures, etc, the magazines get stockpiled by the publishers. What a waste of the WTBS resources just to get the young, new, and inactive into the field service.

two witness ruling ?
by KAYTEE inif a paedophile commits a crime against a junior there has to be, according to the watchtower two witnesses for action to be taken.. if one party of a marriage commits adultery, does there have to be the same, (two witnesses) before action is taken?.

The WTBS goes by two "human" eye-witness rule, preferably JW eye-witnesses. As for forensic or DNA evidence, that is not counted as a "human" witness. Even non-JW witnesses can or cannot be used, depending on the viewpoint of the local elders. That is why some "bad" people continue to exist in the jw organization with immunity.
