Health reform is needed. The major problem is the cost. The sick need it, while the healthy do not. The problem is that the healthy have to pay for the sick or ones without insurance. My main grip is where one hospital will charge one price for a procedure and a hospital across the street will charge half the price. There is no consistant pricing for medical services. Also some items are charged outrageous amounts in the hospital.

Talk Coordinator: A pretty sucky job
by Open mind ini got this "privilege" thrust upon me for about 6 months many years ago.
i was a hubby, father of young children, service committee member, working 2 jobs and then this.
it truly is a thankless task.

The no-shows were a real pain. Luckily the coordinator filled in or found someone.

Website by MODERATE JWs who recognize issues with the religion
by Hermano infound this website this weekend by jws who recognize there are issues within the organization and are calling for change.
this is the type of forum moderate jws needs, imho.
glad to see moderate jws are out there and are doing something.. http://www.jwreform.org/.

I think moderation would be a good thing. Maybe this would loosen some of the chains that the GB control.

I have finally joined an exercise gym. Though I have decreased my food intake and increased my exercise, I still don't see any difference. But I do feel better.

The latest on blood
by PrincessCynic inso the local elders where i live recently had a big meeting with the hlc elders and i got a brief summary of what was said.
thought i'd share.. it seems the jws aren't capable of making a decision based on their personal conscience.
they are confused by the whole fraction thing and end up refusing the lot 'just in case' or accepting some and refusing others making them look like idiots.

It used to be that once a year advanced directives (blood cards) were handed out and everyone scrabbled to have their forms signed. Now it appears that these forms are not automatically handled out. Instead a talk is given encouraging ones to keep up-to-date forms. But I knew that jws would not do it.

It took me a long time to write this...i'm staying.
by MsGrowingGirl20 init took me a long time to write this....i'm being brutally honest...i am still a reg pioneer...three sundays ago,i was praying and asking god for a sign or something because i was so confused...i told him exactly what i needed to see for me to believe.i was feeling terrible--crying and feeling sick because i was so confused.ten minutes after, i walked into the kingdom hall and to my surprise--my prayer was answered!
i soooo wasn't expecting it, even though i prayed.
so this is where almighty god wants me to be,ii've reasoned.

Hope the best for you. It depends on the circumstances you are in at the time. I once was a zealous regular pioneer and enjoyed it with the association at the KH. Everything for years was beautiful until some fluctuating teachings of the WTS trapped me. I had to decide whether to kick my grown df daughter out on the street or go against the WTS teaching at the time and let her stay home. Some might say that the WTS does not teach that today, but they did when my daughter was living with me. Also I experience very unChristian behavior among the elder body when I was an elder.

The WTS is a perfect example of the blind leading the blind.
