They will never admit that 1914 is wrong. It is so ingrained within their basic teachings. The stupid new generation explanation buys the GB time for them all to die and another younger GB group will be responsible to re-explain this.

Gawd, I wish I'd have gotten my teeth fixed.... :(
by Muddy Waters inhere i am, getting old and having my teeth and fillings (literally!
) falling apart now, and barely any dental coverage.
i just feel so sad and pissed off that i didn't do more when i was a jw and actually had coverage at the time.... .

It is just amazing how jws react to such matters. One time the boe wrote the branch for direction about such a personal health matter. The branch wrote back that if the person makes known to others in the cong what was done and the cong is disturbed by it, then judicial action needed to take place. Hence I learned that personal health matters should be kept secret from those in the cong.

Should I just DA or get DFD?
by Julia Orwell inmy never-a-jw dad told me today that mongrel jws who turn on me were never truly my friends and i'm better off without them, so why worry if i get disfellowshiped?.
i fear being disfellowshiped because my name will be dragged through the mud.
i also think it might be a good idea to da or get dfd because then the link is broken and the fade is over.

A circuit overseer once told me to agree with everything the elders said. Agree that you did the wrong and you are working on the problem. Be as repentent in your actions and wording as possible. Then they will not df you. You will not be cast off by the cong. Then just stop attending the meetings and field service. You can live your life just as any non-witness and still have limited jw friends.

I heard that some nations are asking the U.S. to provide severial billion dollars in humanitarian aid to Syria. The U.S. tax dollars doing to work on foreign soil instead of the U.S. Are Americans really safer after spending several years in these Arab countries? Why such crazy involvement?

Thanks for joining this forum and sharing you thoughts and feelings. It is interesting what we can find out just by meditating on the information that comes down from the WTS. Most jws just accept the information without thinking about what is really being said.

Overlapping Generations: A wacky kool-aid thread
by RayPublisher inanother wacky kool aid thread for your reading pleasure from the hardcore dubbs on jw talk dot net is here if you want to read it:.
they wax philosophical, they curse this horrible old world, they gently try to project how soon the big a will come, and then swoon when someone quotes a tidbit from a gb member that they overheard.
warning: those with weak stomachs do not read!.

The 2 generations equally one is one of the craziest ideas the GB came up with. But I guess they are getting desperate to explain why the end has not came yet.

I'm somewhat back again
by Gojira_101 ini had to take a break from jwn here because after all the drama that unfolded over a certain new anti-wt organization i had to back off because i had unbearable emotions and "flashbacks" to being a jw and being bullied.
even though i didn't experience any direct bullying, seeing it happen caused all the negative emotions to come back because i felt like i was back at the kingdom hall.
so i just left for awhile.. i've been having to do a lot of soul searching lately and reevaluating my life.

Health Concerns
by XBEHERE inheard from a friend living on the east coast (u.s.) that bethel is starting to crack down on obesity.
they are sending bethlites for mandatory physicals and if your bmi is high they make you go on a diet.
according to my friend, this person told him that he knows of a bethel brother who was flat out told he was "fat!

When I visited Bethel years ago, I enjoyed the large portions that were served. If it wasn't for the hard work and the youth they have, many of the Bethelites would be obese. When I was young, I ate everything without gaining weight. Now I look at food and gain weight. Of course eating large portions or the wrong kind of diet can contribute to being obese. But I do know of ones because of genetic family traits that were obese inspite of living a correct lifestyle.
To be fair, even my health insurance company is really promoting healthly lifestyles. So it is not just Bethel.

Welcome to this forum and sharing your experience. The generation explanation is certainly bizarre. I am just amazed how many jw accept the thought of 2 overlapping generations becoming one generation. I think that if the GB says white is black that many jws would eagerly accept it.

This just amazes me. Donations can now be used to buy up store property for witnessing. I guess if the laws prevent a jw from witnessing on the corner, they now can in a comfortable building.
