JESUS' 100th ANNIVERSARY on the throne... Only (1) ONE MORE YEAR TO GO...
by Calebs Airplane ini wonder how many jws have realized that yesterday was the 99th anniversary of jesus' rulership.... what of our time?
on friday morning, october 2, 1914, charles taze russell, who took the lead at that time among the bible students, strode into the dining room at bethel in brooklyn, new york.
good morning, all, he said cheerily.

Amazing how their message of living forever in a paradise can be seen by seen in our life time is so empty. I am so amazied how they have and continue to cling to the 1914 idea.

What major WTBTS change(s) do you predict for 2014?
by ABibleStudent inwhat major wtbts change(s) do you predict for 2014 to celebrate the 100th year anniversary of the wtbts's 1914 prediction?.
after posting to what's in it for them?
(gb), i started to think what major change(s) could the wtbts make to thin the flock and cleanse the congregations of social jws who do not donate or go to meetings.. my premise is that the wtbts is a business, a dangerous cult, and that its printing operations are losing money.

They already have a form of tithing with supporting the traveling overseers' fund each year. Nobody complained about the per publisher in the cong fee to support the health insurance and auto expenses to the branch. The GB could easily come up with another manditory reason for congs to give money to the branch.

The elders I grew up with were kind brothers who really cared about the flock. They would spend nights being with ones in the hospital. They also knew how to have fun. They would coordinate multi-congregation gatherings to have a picnic, baseball, vollyball, etc.
When new, younger elders came on board, everything changed. The elders wanted to be bosses instead of servants. Having fun ended. If a brother was accused of over drinking or some other wrong at a gathering, then the elders would also accuse the "host" of being involved in encouraging the wrong.
I got to learn that one or two elders you could talk to, but the majority did not care what I said. They always had their minds made up on a topic.

I think that the man with the briefcase is a wonderful addition. Also thanks to the posters here, for I would have probably missed it.

I like the interchange of ideas. I also love how we receive information more quickly than I ever did in the cong. I like reading about the new members and their life experiences.

who has actually read the entire Bible?
by losingit inno matter how many times i've tried, i just couldn't get through the whole thing.
you know, there were always those reminders to read the bible, have a personal study, go out in service, and.... the other two of the five things we were supposed to do i already forgot.
so, i constantly felt guilty that i just had no interest.

I read the entire Bible a couple of times. The only way I was able to do it was to have the Bible on my computer and bookmark it where I last read and to make a point to read a chapter almost every morning.
