Need help picking an engagement ring
by Cagefighter inladies please weigh in.... i am seriously thinking about buying an engagment this summer.
first, we are both early 30's make about the same roughly (50k) a year.. i am thinking getting a decent quality diamond .90 carat on a platinum ring... seems to be about $3800-4500k price wise.. please be honest..... i saw the ring her x gave her.. it was yellow gold with a white gold top where some side stones were and a .66 to center stone was set that was a "gift".
granted she picked it out.. 1. my ring must be way better than the one her x gave her.. 2. i won't propose without a ring so taking her to pick on out is not an option.

You'll also want to consider what type of work your fiance does. If her job is more hands on, a smaller, higher quality ring might be better than a huge rock.
My diamond is about a third carat, but has very slight imperfections and is colorless. It has a gorgeous sparkle to it that many of my friends' larger stones lack.
Or you could look at getting her a colored diamond- maybe in her favorite color? Traditional, yet unique.

My engagement band is pretty similar to the pic and I love it!
I would recommend spending the money on a single high quality stone. If she wants more surrounding it, let her pick out the wedding band.

I'm a "glass is half full" person, so when I start to get pissed about the time wasted in the cult, I remind myself that at least I'm out now.

Superman, the Klu Klux Klan, Copyright and the Watchtower Society
by DT inhere is an interesting portion of an article.. "almost too weird to believe: writer stetson kennedy infiltrated the kkk in the late 1940s, and learned the powerful organization's secrets but nobody would publish them.
meanwhile, the superman radio program needed a villain to replace the nazis.. according to mental floss magazine, kennedy managed to work all of the ku klux klan's most secret recruiting and organizational practices into his 1940s radio serial, "clan of the fiery cross.
" and as a result, the man of steel dealt a crushing blow to the racist organization: .

That was a great mental_floss article. Here's the official site: http://www.mentalfloss.com/blogs/archives/39296
Personally, now that I know it's a cult, I just think that it looks even more culty. But I don't think the general public really cares.

Jw couples
by XPeterX init is taken for granted that many (especially young people) in the org get married to have sex only to realise later how wrong was their choice.i want to say that a great number of married jws got bored and are unhappy with their partners.am i wrong?.

I can think of 4 young couples off the top of my head that married for sex, found out they weren't really attracted to each other, and got divorced.
I am so glad that I didn't marry a Witness. My hubby and I have been married longer than any of those couples, which makes me laugh.
Apparently there were a few people in the local congregation that were talking about how soon we were going to get divorced since he wasn't a Witness and I had stopped attending meetings.
Ha ha! Gotta love proving those idiots wrong!

What Stupid Things Were You Counseled For?
by minimus ini've always been told that i have a very good personality, that i'm humorous, etc.. one elder called me over and said that i was "smiling too much".
the other elders talked to the elder who counseled me and he came back to say that i should be like i was .

Blondie, my dad didn't think anything was wrong with it, but my mom rolled her eyes. She's the one who has tried curling it since I was little and she knows it's hopeless!
And I've always air dried my hair, so the blow dryer went out to my dad's shop- I figured he could use it on some of his projects!
Loling at Finally-Free! That same elder told the younger men that they should skip the local strip club while doing the business territories, but it was ok for him since he was more mature!
