Comparing molested children to prostitutes.
by avishai inhere is an excerpt from the "beware the voice of strangers" talk from the 2003 district convention.
this part is obviously referring to the "dateline" special.
notice how they subtly compare the victims with prostitution and insinuate that they are immoral?

Jehovah's Witnesses "snapping" under pressure, their flawed doctrine must be sending people "over the edge"!
by the research lady inin the last year the watchtower's public relations department is being inundated with inquiries concerning jehovah's witnesses and their bizarre behaviour.
the recent murder and cannabalism of a three week old baby is the latest in a series of ongoing horrific news articles linking jehovah's witnesses to acts of violent crimes.
http://www.seattlepi.com/national/408515_baby28.html?source=mypi what is causing these problems?

does being a jehovahs witness make you crazy or do only crazy people become jehovahs witnesses? .............that is the question

Witnesses "Policing" People...Is It True?
by CrimsonBleu inmy sister told me once she likes to "police" people, that it was sort of a game she liked to play.
she is true to her word, she does just that.
always seeking the negative, rarely acknowledging positive...anything.. is this common among witnesses?

It is shocking how people find things out.My cousins husband who is an elder once literally hid in the bushes outside a friend of mines house to catch her and her boyfriend "fornicating".I think its their own repressed sexual sexual pervertions acting out.

Not been on for AGES but need to rant
by billie jean ini've not used any boards for a long time because i felt i'd got what i needed from them and felt i needed to 'move on' for want of a better word.
i've just come back from staying at my j.w parents house for a few days (which was long enough) we don't usually bring the subject of 'it' up but the other night i got it all, the bile was out, they were on defensive mode, to the point of shouting, insulting me, telling me that they'll 'cut me off' if they find out i'm apostate, then laughing at me and causing me to actualy feel worthless it was unreal.
i told them i'm an atheist and tried to tell them what the 'truth' does and what it really is but i got absolutely nowhere.

It never ceases to amaze me how jw's exspect you to respect there beliefs and never question or speak againt them but they openly attack all other belief structures.

Friend said they're really emphasizing "Family Worship Evening" at the Convention - why did they get rid of the book study then?
by truthseeker ini just had a chat with a friend i haven't seen for a while.
he knows we're inactive.
he was trying to encourage us by relating what he heard at the convention, saying "the end is near" and then proceeded to tell me that what stood out the most was how many times the society emphasized "family worship" night at the convention.. it got me thinking, why did they get rid of the book study arrangement in private homes if they're so keen on forcing people to have family worship night?

Being Brought Up As A Jehovah's Witness---Was It A "BAD" Upbringing?
by minimus ini think that my upbringing made me the person that i am today---for good and bad.
even though i was raised a witness, i don't think that my upbringing was bad.. your thoughts, please..

Most of the things that were wrong with my childhood wernt the fault of the org they were just the fault of parents with emotional problems and next to no parenting skills.I had a very warm and loving extended family mostly jw and i think things probably would have been worse if they wernt united by a faith.

so ive been wondering since i joined here...
by freedomisntfree inwhat is the benefit of the "fade out" i hear it get thrown around a lot here but is it a really a better way to go?
at least in my area people who dont go to meetings are treated pretty much the same as the diffed people might say hi to them in the mall but there not gonna be getting any wedding invites.so why fade out?
theres a lot of pain and drama involved in a da or df but thats the situation your in your cross to bear so to speak so why postpone or avoid it?
