i wanted to start a thread about the most disturbing quotes that you all have found in watchtower publications.

What rock did some of these people who write these things come out from under. What are people thinking when they read these things. I never saw any of this when I was a JW because I rarely read the magazines or literature, it was too boring LOL. I was a witness because I had to be one, forced by my parents and then fear. If I had read that stuff I would have been having some serious doubts a lot sooner than I did.
my gradmother used to tell me about a catholic icon at her aunt's house which was demon possesed and once blinked at her.

OMG @ God Delusion, that story you referred us too, that takes the cake. I heard about these stories as a child in the 1960s and was looking for it just this week, now I hear a bunch more and realize they are Urban Legends.

I already relate to it being raised in the truth and though it wasn't my Grandmother, my parents had me going full time door to door with them when I was a teenager. Picnics in the country with cheap food LOL etc and then on with the return visits and bible studies all day long everyday.

I am so happy that they aired this show. I read the book about this a few months ago and was Horrified. I wanted to tell the world to read the book to see what spawn comes from that cult.

The hypocrisy is unbelievable. All those years as a JW I wasted not being able to play in the school band or play sports after school and it's ok for these girls. Grrrrrr
YES I remember that, I was a child so didn't do the rooming but we stayed in the rooms when we went to the assemblies in the US as we were in Canada and my parents were poor because they were full time pioneers. I was 10 the first time we stayed in a room in New York City
It was awful I remember, my Mom making me tiptoe and not use the bathroom unless I had too because it might disturb the non JW people we were staying with. We had to leave a good Witness to impress them you know Lol. Very uncomfortable to stay in some strange peoples spare bedroom. Weird and crazy.
This is really getting ridiculous but I do agree with Breakfast of Champions, its another scare tactic for the R&F JW's to feed their need to believe that the end is near.
The Watchtower Society is getting more and more desperate.
READ this, this explains it in a simple way. The WT tried to settle with he for $56,000r but the catch was a GAG order. She refused, she ended up with their legal costs. No justice for Vicki in my mind. So that is WHY the Candace Conti case is Epic.
