Elder called last night and they are stopping by tonite for a 'visit'.......
by troubled mind insurprised me that he actually followed up on his word and called .
it will be strange after four yrs.
to have them in our house .my husband was not happy to hear it will be two brothers coming over, because he really does not want to feel we are being counseled .

I agree with Sweeney. I do however know you want to get a few things off your chest, and may feel better being able to express these things to them. I'm not sure if at this point it will do much good to temper what you say, I think that their visit is a sniffing out as to what they should do with you, and by meeting, you are opening that door. Maybe deep down thats what you are ready for? Good luck either way, and I'll be checking back to see the result.

Were you Stalked or Chased After Once you Exited the JW's by Elders ?
by flipper ini tried to fade off the map by moving 30 miles initially in 2004 after i exited in late 2003 .
the first several years they didn't bother me.
i ran into a elder from my former congregation in late 2005 in an antique store - he tried telling me i was wrong for stopping attending meetings.

We have a large yard, and the elders know we use our deck and yard space. They'd just pop by and walk around the property and catch us out...they did this THREE times. Recently I've gotten reports from my kids playing outside that the (what was called) PO has driven by, as well as a newly appointed elder. Both times they slow or stop in front of the house and take note of......something. It should be noted that we live at the end of a dead end road, 25 minutes driving time outside the territory.

The JW's are coming back this Saturday, asking for your opinions and help...
by esw1966 inhi, i had a great conversation with an elder and his wife.
i am born again and the question i asked them was what scripture they hold on to on the day of armageddon when god looks at them and tries to determine whether or not he will let them into the paradise earth or not.
he never heard that question and had no reply... he was going to do some research on it for me... .

I think that he, and not his wife, but a younger male pioneer or ms (or both) will come back with a What Does the Bible Teach book. They'll think since you showed "interest" they have a bible study.
They are not out to discuss or debate real bible topics, only to bring them up, explain how you should view them, and get you to be one of them. There will be no constructive enlightened conversation, nor will they listen to your points of reasonings and a light bulb moment will happen.
You'd be better off at the Farmers Market looking for SilentOnes hotty.

Remember that Elder that stopped by my house in December ?
by troubled mind inwell i ran into him at the grocery store the other night ......why is it that my throat still tightens up and i get this anxious laugh when i talk to him ?
i want to be confident and assertive ,but ultimately i end up acting like a blubbering idiot !.
backstory is that he stopped by in december because i had put winter decorations out on my porch and he wanted to know if we were indeed celebrating christmas now .

I remember very well because I too had Xmas things out this year, and was nervous (how silly now looking back, even those few short months).

Back to the old pros and cons list. However, at the top of that list should be respect for your husbands view in that he'd rather just ignore them and go on living. My husband is exactly the same way. He doesn't feel we should have to reverse preach to anyone, let people know our thoughts or views, and just go on our way. To a degree I respect that, for example I wouldn't go out of my way to talk trash about the WT, but if asked or pressed I will NOT hide their lies, or sugar coat their failed prophecies or docrines. That is not my responsibility to do. He sits back, listens, doesn't disagree with me, but doesn't offer much on his own. He's getting more vocal, but it's been a long process.
At the end of the day, you should do whatever helps you to remain a connected unit with your husband, makes you feel like a whole adult that is not cowing down to any religious entity, and lets you sleep well at night. The rest doesn't matter.

I have a daughter that can't say cinnamon to save her life.....but I really can't think of a word that trips me up. I would tell you what I have a hard time spelling, but I can't spell it. That's embarrassing.
I also knew a whole group of elders in my old hall that couldn't say Revelation. It was always Revelations. Drove.Me.Crazy. They also axed a lot of questions. Wonder when they'll axe me from the stage?
