Torre, here's a howto for Internet Explorer: go find a flag online, for example on Wikipedia. Right click the picture, select properties, and copy the Address part (highlight the whole path and Ctrl+C or right-click - Copy). Here's what you'll get: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/9/9a/Flag_of_Spain.svg/125px-Flag_of_Spain.svg.png
Now in the forum when replying press the icon saying "Insert/edit image" (it's an icon of a tree). In the Image URL field paste (Ctrl+V or right-click and Paste) the url of the image you copied from Wikipedia.
This is the procedure for any picture you'd like to post. If you have the picture on your hard drive, you have to find a free picture sharing site, for example www.photobucket.com or www.flickr.com upload your picture there, then do the above.

the last annointed in my town died about 15 years ago or so.

Joseph, it's not about we should ignore the Bible just so that some people would not be offended. Jesus didn't say that you have to partake of the emblems at the JW memorial. In my mind it's just a weird religion's man made ritual that has nothing to do with Jesus' command, and that's that. Compare to this: JWs don't take part of nationalistic rituals, say saluting the flag. But they don't mock the flag saluters (I mean as a group). Or in the Bible Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego didn't worship the erected statue, but they did show up and just stood there doing nothing.

Yes OldHippe, you are perfectly right, I myself would not do it either. However I would not dress up like these guys either, but I still find it funny. However I didn't mean someone who deliberately make fun of the ceremony, but one who didn't understand he shouldn't be eating.

From Romania here. Don't care much about the flags though, I don't think I'll ever be nationalist enough to have pride in a flag Not judgin' just sayin'. Besides I'm a minority nationality here.
I think the forum software is being reworked, and until then several functions of the forum was halted, among them is the option to put up the flag in the profile.

About 3/4 of the memorial talk was dedicated to explain why only very few should partake, and in several occasions it was stated bluntly "noone present should be partaking of the emblems" just to avoid confusion. It would have been funny to see a non-JW walk in and eat/drink. I can only imagine the looks on the JWs faces

i have been visiting this site for about a year but never really posted much but i have really learned and enjoyed the topics on this forum, in fact i think this is the best discussion forum i have yet to come across .. a little about my situation is i am a non religious person married to a devout witness, when i met him 4 yrs ago he was out in the "world", never really mentioned his beliefs as we were enjoying life without it.
the more we dated the more i realized that something wasn't right.

No, they are helped by Satan to blind them and keep them in his system. See, the JWs have answer to anything. An elder said once that everyone who leaves Jehovah (weasel words, many don't leave God, but a man made organization) experiences things going better (gee, isn't that funny?) and that is because Satan is smoothing their way, but in the end they will be worse than they were when in the org. As you said, things just happen, it's inevitable that something bad happens to the one who exited, and the JWs are at the corner ready to jump on him again.

remember, the "calling" ended in 1935. Do the math and calculate how old the "anointed" class was. How long before the average dub started to question the integrity of the 1935 generation, just as happened with the 1914 generation?
You're stumbling me civicsi You're talking about old light. The average dubs questioned the integrity of '35 for a while, that's why (and because it just wasn't feasible) they changed that one. Now the official teaching is "we can't set a date as to when the calling of the annointed ends". See w07 5/1 "Questions from readers". This was the major reason why 2008 saw a 10% increase in the annointed number - the '35 teaching was a psychological stop sign; one thinking about his status thought that in order for him to be annointed, it means that someone of the annointed class fell from Jah's grace, which a devoted JW doesn't think of as likely. I am sure the number rose again in 2009, and is over 10k.
