Why 6 Billion People Deserve to Die in Armageddon
by Leolaia injehovah is such a righteous, merciful, loving god -- slow to anger, overflowing with loving kindness and blessing.
yet it somehow bothers many of you that he will shortly execute his judgment on mankind and wipe out 99.9% of the world's population, as if that somehow is supposed to conflict with his loving qualities.
personally, i have no idea why many of you feel this way.

Hey fellas, as you got older, into your early 30s, did you start finding women between their late 30s and late 40s attractive?
by miseryloveselders insomedays my dad would look at what i still call an older woman, and he'd call her attractive.
i'd look at him like dude your nuts.
i'm thinking just cuz your older doesn't mean its wrong to find younger women attractive.

I, like others here, have found myself being attracted to ladies in most age groups for as long as I can remember. It didn't matter to me whether they were younger or older. I try to differentiate between what I find attractive and what a realistic option is, though. I've had many worries and doubts as to my own maturity level over the years so I don't go out of my way to ham it up with older ladies (though it happens sometimes). Even with ladies in my own peer group, I have doubts and worries. As attractive as young girls can be, the stigma of paedolphlia forces me to avoid them as much as I can.
Vamp, I have these same feelings, I guess we can call them insecurities maybe? Some days I feel inadequate, like if I made an attempt at a relationship, I feel as if I'm not bringing a fair share to the table regarding maturity and responsibility. I've seen far too many men who've failed good women, and I always said I refuse to be one of those guys. I'd rather stay single, and die by myself, rather than marry some dynamic woman and fail her, thereby setting her back who knows how many years since she wasted them with me. Not to mention ruin her confidence in good men. Its not fair to do that to a woman. At the same time, I'm not a sucker, aint no woman simping me. You want an Urkel, well go find him, but don't kid yourself thinking thats me.
With young gals, every now and then I might see one I find attractive, but that teenager/barely legal fantasy stuff is semi-perverted to me. There's a sympathetic side of me towards dudes getting hit on statuatory rape charges, but for the 30 years olds getting charged for that kind of stuff I'm not exactly empathetic towards his plight. Especially if it was quite evident that she was underage and not running a game on him.
That seductive older account manager that made me post this thread, I've had a tough time getting her out of my head. I don't drink tea, or do other socially accepted eating and drinking habits that her age demographic might do, but I'd step my game up momentarily if not permanently for her. Or even someone like her. She is a beautiful woman, graceful, elegant, its like she was walking on air. Amazing.

Marital Due and the KS
by yknot ini just did a 'quick' search and 'marital due' doesn't appear to have made the 'list' of issues addressed in the ks!.
did i miss something?????
shouldn't the blantant repeated refusal (not justifiable under illness, ability, or discernable reason) be an issue addressed?.

Let me be blunt here: If a married man has a "hard on" (literally or figuratively) for another woman, it is because of his own desire, it is because he allowed a passion for this other woman to be cultivated in his heart. The converse is true for the married woman. Jesus wouldn't give such a person a pass; neither should we.
@djeggnog
Ya know I didn't bother reading the rest of what you posted in that last post, because I'm getting ready to catch the bus, but i had to respond to this before bouncing. I actually agree with you to some degree as I dig Stoic philosphy. What you quoted from James, and also Jesus' principles on looking at a woman the wrong way, can go a long way when it comes to controlling desire and actions. If a person can apply those principles in his or her life, it can save him/her a ton of frustration and problems in the long run.
Where I disagree with you however, is about Jesus not giving one such a pass, and the thought that neither should we. I don't buy that for one second. The bible is clear on gross sinners, meaning those practicing sin, hence grieving the holy spirit, having no forgiveness left for them. At the same time, the very foundation of Christianity is acknowledging that we're sinners whether it be in thought, word, or action. The actions do in fact include infedility, amongst similar sins and worse. We're you lose me Eggnog, is by saying that "neither should we." At that point, I have to ask the question, who are you? Who am I? Who are the several old men comprising the GB along with the token brotha amongst them? Your post comes off to me as if you get off on being judge, jury, and you're dying, absolutely dying to be the executioner too. Imperfect men judging imperfect men.

Or just do like every dude told me when I was younger, and they still tell me today, "Misery, whatever you do, don't get married." Before I got appointed it was, "preMisery, whatever you do, don't get married." Medicare aged old men tell me, "Don't get old, and don't get married."
Its funny how the very arrangements designed to make a people clean in God's eyes are the very thing that leads them to a path of misery. Christopher Hitchens said religion places impossible demands on people that create more problems. Like Paul said, those choosing to get married will have tribulation. Maybe thats why he never got married. He probably took a look at Peter, and Peter's mother in law staying with Peter, and said the heck with that! I'd rather get shipwrecked, inprisoned, tortured, and martyred, than get married.

Did born-in's have the capacity to "test their faith"?
by sabastious in2 corinthians 13: 5a - 5 examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves.. this verse just comes at me like a locomotive.. to examine something is to truly use my mental capacities and to look at something objectively.. how do i accomplish this, even now?.
i was raised in an organization that controlled my information and used fear of rejection as well as my need for approval to "inculcate" the "truth" into me.. by that right, i (and all born-ins) do not have the ability to examine our faith (as a jw).. there will always be an artificial pull either for or against the society (whether we are aware of it or not).. free will has been comprimised; therefore our "faith to our creator" has been tainted and cannot be judged as worthy or unworthy.. of course many of us have regained our ability to discern and look at things objectively.. but i believe that we will never be able to truly look at the watchtower organization without a slant.. not to say the conclusions we come to regards to the organization are not valid (because they are and have been validated).
my point is that the organization has no right to judge and ostracize any born-in for leaving and even for speaking out.. they broke us, and now they are demonizing us for the things we did in that broken state.

Absolutely not. I'm a 3rd generation JW, and I did everything that I was raised to do. Just like a dog, I obeyed what I was trained so i could get my attaboys. Our whole lives we've been taught Babylon owned Jerusalem in 607 BC. We were never presented with the other arguments. We were warned against considering outside sources for research, to be suspicious of anyone and anything not with the WT stamp of approval. Which means if the WT didn't print it, its suspicious. Since coming into my own, I've been researching Revelation, and I've found that the interpretations made by secular historists, and in some cases other religious commentators, have made much more sense than the WT's interpretations. 607 and REvelation are just drops in the bucket. There's so much more. To admit that your imitating the Boreans, means to risk being viewed with suspicion, potentially losing your family and friends. It takes a really strong individual to question what you're taught as a young born-in.

As a guy, and someone who prides himself on being a man, I don't get easily offended by constructive criticism. If my breath smelled like hot garbage, I would want someone to tell me that it did, tactifully, and respectfully. (Col 4:6) If he's an easy going guy like you stated, he'll take it in stride. He might already be aware that he has a problem of some sort, and might appreciate any suggestions you can offer. I worked with a dude who's breath was foul. My boss was a real heads on kinda guy. He used to play college football, and he was ex military. Some days you would open up his office door, and he'd be in hunched over in a linebacker pose, looking at you like fresh meat. If you flinched, he'd view you as less than a man. Anyways, my coworker had foul breath. My boss told him privately about it. It didn't really help too much, because this coworker was a gump, and his breath continued to stink. But he really appreciated our boss taking him to the side like that and giving him some advice on his breath. It meant alot to him that our boss would do that. In his own way, he viewed as the boss cared about him.

Bible refers to women as "the weaker vessel" - you know why?
by sabastious inbecause it's a self fullfilling prophecy!.
if you keep women couped up and force them to have only limited contact with the outside world they are going to appear sheltered and unlearned.
therefore when these oppressed women do things that are unlearned or immature all the men go "well they are the weaker vessel.".

I knew a man who felt women were just slightly above animals. He just felt a woman needed to be F*cked properly and they would behave . I've known men who believe that now. That is why he/others feel men could watch porn with women on women and not be disgusted ( b/c women were just above animals ) but never watch porn with men on men. I know, there is so much incongruency and congnitive dissonance here it boggles the mind.
The look on my face after reading that might be permanent. Wow.
