Adherence to FALSE TEACHINGS required of Jehovah's people: Scottish Court Case transcripts confirm
by Terry inin 1954 a controversial court case, douglas walsh vs. the right honorable james latham clyde, m.p.c.
was held in scotland to determine.
if jehovah's witnesses should be exempt from military service and granted status as "ordained ministers".. what is of outstanding interest is that testimony in this trial is extraordinarily revealing.

Little Girls in the '70's KHalls: Dresses
by White Dove indo you remember the short little dresses small girls wore back then in the khall?
my mom wouldn't replace ours until they were very short on us.
she was very cheap.. when we sat down in a chair, it was very difficult to keep the skirt down far enough.. i remember getting slapped hard on bare skin several times because i couldn't keep my dress down when told to.

Not the dresses white dove. But I am still haunted by my leisure suits I wore. Those who wore them should have been the ones beaten.

Blues Brother - "Some Witnesses blame anything from, house fires to missing a bus, on "The Demons" It is a way of avoiding personal responsibility."
That's how I viewed the jist of this whole article. They are trying to explain away why reports are bad now and will be getting worse in the future.
Its the Demons! And not the 'Gilligan's' of the Governing Body.

The CONSCIOUS CLASS what does it mean to you, and do you consider yourself one of them?
by cattails inthere's a few posts where the term "conscious class" has been in just recently.. i'm wondering if it means the same to most jws and exjws who post here.. what does the "conscious class" mean to you?.
ok, no funny business about 'being conscious' as in awake and fully cafeinated.. if you could answer the two questions it may help some here to understand what.
this term is a lot better.

Two classes to think about that are noteworthy.
The 'conscious class' and the 'unconscious class' that are still in. Both have grown considerably since my leaving.
The 'unconscious class' goes about the motions of being a JW, but really their heart is not in it and is doing very little to promote Watchtowerism. They just don't stop to think about it. As Ynot mentioned before, this is a large percentage of JW's, which is obvious by their lack of FS, meeting attendance and what they talk about or what they don't talk about much, the WT.
These are also the ones that don't contribute financially.
As one particularly judgemental CO told us Elders, "they don't really believe we are in the last days". So they are not motivated to make any 'WT sacrifices'. There children leave the 'truth' at a very high percentage.
Their appearance may seem to fit the 'conscious class', but they don't label to themselves why they are not doing much.

New here...
by hereiam! insorry if this starts off as a kind of a downer.. i am 29, and my husband and i have stopped going to meetings since last october.
we live in mexico and used to attend the english.
long story short, after realizing how many much we've been lied to we stopped going to our meetings, moved out of the territory, switched to spanish, and after a month of attending just vanished.

How Many 18-35 year old JW's have Exited the Cult in Your Family ?
by flipper injust wanted to start this to get a pulse on how many young jw's are exiting percentage wise recently in the witness organization.
in my family i have 8 young people aged 21 through 35 .
these are my son and two daughters and my older siblings 5 adult children.

Hi Flipper man,
In my family, we have 7 nephews and nieces in that age group.
3 left due to apostasy
4 are just plain DF'd - 3 of those want nothing to do with it (celebrate Xmas, Birthdays etc..) and the other wants to come back but it is having serious drug problems.
Funny, but the 'true JW apostate' ones (they Dissed themselves) are very happy and well adjusted. The others have some lingering problems and still fear somewhat the WT as represented by their mom who is 'nutso controlling'
And to add: That's 7-7 out. None of them stayed.
