  isaiah 30:21 is an oft quoted scripture by the watchtower.

  it reads: "and your own ears will hear a word behind you saying: "this is the way.

  Who Is This Larouche Guy Anyway?

  i keep falling over the sayings of mister larouche everytime that i take a peek at you knows posts.. i decided to investigate some of his writings.

  it seems to me that he has 2 bees in his bonnet, the first is that the usa is about to plunge into economical decline, the second indicates that 'lil' ole england wants to subvert the entire united states and pinch all it's wealth.. can someone give me some background on this fellow?

  is he a respected sort of guy or is he a shrimp short of a seafood salad?

  i see you know is back.

  i haven't been keeping up with the boards in some time, but i see that robert is still here, trying to support his rather unique blend of larouche/rutherfordian end-time predictions.. well, i happened across the thread between yk and amazing, and i noticed that yk once again had his facts in error.

  he said that larouche got 25% of the democratic primary vote in arkansas in 2000. i assume he meant 2000, because larouche wasn't close to 25% in 1996. well, the fact is that larouche only got 21.53% of the primary vote in arkansas in 2000. is that such a big number so as to make larouche a real, viable candidate?

  i have an idea, but still can't get it.. yours dig.

  When you right click on a picture, and left click on "properties" the URL is listed. Just copy the entire URL (sometime the URLs are two lines long; don't add or take anything away.

  For some reason the URL you are using ended with jpg.gif It shouldn't have both. Take the .gif off the URL and your picture will show.

  Hi digderidoo,

  To post a picture on this forum one needs a link to another site that's typically a gif file. For example, the above flag is found at http://members.aol.com/dcreelma/imagesite/animated/new/animatednew0011.html Go to the flag, right click on the picture, go down to "properties" and click; you'll see the gif or jpg file. Copy and paste the URL when you post, and the picture will show. It's that easy.

  Making money on the plans and building materials : Don't think so, have you any details?

  I left before Quick Builds were started by the Tower, but I've seen posts about the process. From what I understand, many of the building supplies are controlled by the Society or by suppliers the Society "recommends." The supply costs for theocratic material is typically higher than what the JWs could buy locally. I do not know this for a fact, but I've seen it posted by others.

  RE: Interest Charges--let's say a group of JWs borrow $500,000 from the Tower @ 3% interest. These are funds the Tower has or receives without interest. On a $500,000 loan, the Tower gets about $15,000 a year from JWs on this loan when it begins. This is nothing more than a building used to recruit others willing to work without pay for a publishing firm. By the time the local JWs nearly pay off the loan, it's time to remodel or build again . . . and the $$$ keeps rolling into the Watchtower's large pockets.

  As others pointed out, the Watchtower has ultimate control of these properties if the congregation folds. The local JWs borrows money from the Tower, pays interest to the Tower, the Tower owns it in the long run. Not a bad deal for the Watchtower, I think. Random House Publishing can only dream of tax-free deals like that! "Follow the money."

  Follow the money Downdog. Where do Witnesses go to borrow the money to build Kingdom Halls--the Watchtower Society which gets the money without interest. The Tower also seems to make a lot of money on the plans, building material, etc. As DeepThroat said in All the President's Men, "Follow the money!"

  do they have breakdowns by age?
