I believe in Blessed Ink Blots. They are real, and I can prove Ink Blots are real. When I get one on my shirt, I always bless it. Now if I trot out some vague concept (i.e., I believe in God) I can't prove the theory beyond saying, "I believe." The God assumption might be correct, but the burden of proof falls on the believer--which of course can't be done.

that the real truth about sept 11 & hope came out a couple months later with their "awake" magazine.
The Society sure doesn't want the Witnesses wasting time watching NBC Dateline, when they could be reading and selling The Watchtower. How far must JWs stick their heads in the sand before reaching the other side of the globe?

Come to think about it, JWs are never in "good standing" because the rank-n-file can never do enough. They always need to put in more hours, more time for meetings, more time preparing for the meetings, more time reading and underliningThe Watchtower, and more time following the latest whims of the elders. "Good standing" for a JW is always just a little out of reach--they need to do more.

I think there are several folks on this forum that might want a copy of Zellner's 1981 work. In 1964, John Lofland did a participant-as-observer study of the then fledgling Unification Church (Moonies) in the United States. Zellner compares several observations between the Moonies and Witnesses; it's worth the read. Thanks again, VM44.
