WT August 15, 2013 QFR - Sitting next to a disfellowshipped child at meetings
by Designer Stubble inpage 8 of the latest wt (insider version) has a whole page dedicated to the question whether it is appropriate to sit next to a disfellowshipped child at meetings.. not sure how to paste this in, but check jw.org.
perhaps someone can do this for me.. horrible, no words really on how pharisee like their cult grip and control has become!.
first of all, without any shame they are talking about disfellowshipped minors.

i'm surprised they didn't plug something in about not having bodily contact - be sure you maintain a proper physical distance despite sitting beside eachother. the very fact that this ridiculousness is an issue worth devoting a page of rhetoric to is amazing in itself. is it me or are they just getting further and further removed from reality?

The day after Armageddon how will JW survive the first week?

yeah - and how about the ptsd.....people who have lived through bombings, horrible things, devastating earthquakes, hurricanes, tsunamis - even if unscathed bodily there is emotional damage. i often wondered about the "though 10000 fall beside you 10000 at your side no harm will you betide" and just figured that there would be a miraculous numbing of the senses so that we could see it all yet remain unaffected.....
but, seriously - the picture portrayed does leave a lot of unanswered questions. i guess looting will be acceptable after arma - but now in a disaster situation it is a crime.......and the damage...disease from decaying bodies....the stench....lots of issues unanswered - but don't speculate friends!!!!

Trying to handle my JW mom
by KatyMomof2 inmy mom is a recent widow.
she, being a jw does not have means to support herself and does not seek higher education ( because that would take from her studies ).
so, she is living ( sponging off of ) me.

tough situation. is mom capable of living independently or does she need personal assistance? if okay independently, i would definitely check out available social services locally. if needs assistance, look into assisted living. it is one thing to have a supportive grandparent in the house, but if you have one that drains you emotionally and is not respectful of your parenting decisions and skills, not a good situation for anyone, and will only result in disruption and hard feelings down the road.
hope you are able to sort things out so everyone is in a happier place........:) good luck!

On my way into work today,,,,,
by Jomavrick ini was listening to some southern radio preacher giving his sermon.
he was talking about the need to sell out to god and not just say that you love god but prove it.
he then said something that made me laugh - he said " a wife doesn't prove that she loves her husband in the parlor, she proves her love for him in the kitchen".. now i find that hilarious for a couple reasons, what do you ladie's and gents think??

just another thought - where was the loving congregation when these children were orphaned? why did not someone local endeavor to take them in and keep them in their environs?
the first version of this one i heard was actually the little girl and the old blue truth book....now updated/revised to vietnam and the bible storybook....next will be an ethiopian child and some current publication....
