religious preference is irrelevant when it comes to paying child support and/or alimony. it is a decision of the court - and an honorable man will see to it that his offspring is provided for no matter what or where the mom is and what her attitude may be toward him. the child deserves parental support and if the only way it is going to get to them is via $$$, at least that kid will grow up knowing that his/her dad was there repsonisibly providing for him/her.

Passing a resolution a painful experience
by stillin ineverybody knows it's going to pass.
nobody ever asks if possibly that much money for the circuit overseer's whatever isn't a bit too much, or whatever else the congregation is being asked to agree to.
then the call to raise your hand if in favor of doing the "right thing.

Do you remember this?
by AK - Jeff ini used to go in service with a prominent elder in our area who would announce, regarding the 'truth' book in the 70's:.
"would you like to know the truth and gain everlasting life in just one day?
this book is divided into 24 chapters that can be studied in just an hour each.

Jehovah was speeding up the work - hence the 6 month studies....the end was coming, of course and people had to make up their minds and convert fast while the ark door was still open. if someone didn't show progress soon enough, they were to be dumped and others sought out who would live up to the timeline. the floodgates of heavens were burst open and the valuable things of the nations were falling in like raindrops from the skies..........a little nation was becoming a thousand............that was all due to that little blue book. amazing stuff!
hindsight is 20/20

RR: are you sane? just kidding.....that list - if from memory - well, then you are certifiable.
Sunspot - We were always going to Pawtucket then started getting shuttled back to Springfield. They ended up with Amherst, the college grounds eventually. I remember Springfield Fair Grounds at least a couple times when I was a kid.

Was it long eons ago in the blue Truth book that they had the list of identifying marks of the true religion? The entire list made up by whom?
JW's are not by any means the only group who are not militarily involved and the whole preaching thing is radically blown out of proportion. Mormons go door-to-door, kids selling stuff to fund extra-curricular activities go door-to-door.....why even satanic little toddlers do for tricks and treats!
