Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't remember the Holy Spirit (Ghost) ever revealing a personality like Jesus and Jehovah do in the Bible. The Holy Spirit seems to always be talked about as a thing, not a being.

"Trinitarians" how can you "lie" to the truth? Is truth a person?
by booker-t ini was talking to this jw's elder who i believe has to be the best debater against the "trinity" doctrine that jw's have he brought up several point which i feel needs to be addressed by trinitarians.
first of all he argured that acts 5:3-4 about lying to the holy spirit in no way makes the holy spirit a person any more that "lying to the truth" in james makes "truth" a person.
i have never seen that verse before about lying to the truth.

Clearly Jehovah and Jesus have no idea what they are doing, because they keep needing all these replacements for the heavenly class. It seems their ability to pick good, honest people is flawed. Much like their prophets on earth, flawed God, flawed logic, flawed prophets.

to jayhawk1 and Finally-Free: Those at the table that night were apparently all chosen to be a part of the New Covenant, so they all ate and drank the emblems after the last legitimate Passover was commemorated. Now that the great crowd is in place, the ruling is that to partake indicates a Heavenly Hope, whereas an Earthly Hope is indicated by being there and just passing the emblems. Even partaking isn't always counted as such, I'm told. My conscience isn't bothered, now that I've switched after investigating the facts, which had been ignored/withheld in the previous Bible study group I was raised with.
So it takes 2000 years to get 144,000 faithful people to rule with Jesus? Why is there still over 8000 of them and growing?

Michael Jackson as a JW ...

i'm wouldn't describe myself as a fan of his, but sometimes i just feel so sorry for the poor guy.. and now it's even worse!
he's responsible for children who're probably thinking that it's everyone else who's weird!

It was 1919 when Rutherford reaffirmed that Russell had been the faithful and wise steward. It wasn't until 1931 that the identity of the faithful and discreet slave directly changed in dogma.
That's right, the faithful and discreet slave chosen in 1919 didn't even know about their selection as such until 1931. How's that for poor communication? God's channel must have been static in the early years.

Got my invitation to the memorial today
by fairchild inyep i got invited to the memorial and i'm not sure what to do.. last year they didn't even bother inviting me but the year before i went although i brought my own bread and ate it during the memorial.. this year i really don't know what to do but i'm leaning towards going.

Is practicing Capoeira wrong/bad/discouraged by Jehovah's Witnesses?
by aikichristian inmy girlfriend used to be an avid capoeira practicioner for over year.
she has reaped many benefits from it: increased physical fitness, flexibility, some self-defense skills, and stress-relief.
she enjoyed it.. unfortunately, an article came out in the spanish version of the "watchtower" ("atalaya" in spanish) essentially saying that capoeira should not be practiced because it has some spirituality stuff in it that was wrong.

I don't have anything good to say about Jehovah's Witnesses. They claim they are the happiest people on Earth, but then they treat their own family so terrible. Your Dad sounds typical of the JW husband and father.
I'm sure you already know your only answer is to get out... way out... of this situation. If there is any women's crisis centers around, you might want to seek out one of them for help.
