REALLY? How weird! What did they think, they you were continuing to sleep together after you got divorced? Is that why? Supposedly PROOF is needed that there's a sexual relationship going on. No?

by JBean inhi everyone... i have a "hypothetical" situation... here's the issue: i have an "ex" (baptised but no longer involved with the jws)... we got divorced legally, but not for "scriptual" reasons (not because of adultery) said ex has now moved away but it has been found out that they are living with a member of the opposite sex.
same mailing address, single family home, etc.
is this enough grounds for disfellowshipping?

Same mailing address, single family home, etc. Is this enough grounds for disfellowshipping? or do I really need (as some JWs have insinuated) to have more "proof"... do I need to hire an investigator to take photos of them in the bedroom for pete's sake???? Any thoughts/ideas would be most appreciated. Thanks!

quite different from most people raised a witness, i have very few horror stories about my upbringing.
my family was just a family, my mom and dad fought and argued, my siblings and i misbehaved and got in trouble.. .

Wow, Paralipomenon ! You are so strong, so strong. Your post made me cry, as what you related is EXACTLY what I feel! I never did have to have the "talk" with my folks though... just have been fading... slooowwwwllllyyyy... for years and I believe they actually "get it", but don't wish to discuss it. An update

just a small confession .. my last post was actually written a couple months ago before i'd gotten the nerve to post.
i copied and pasted it ... and forgot to update it.. my wedding came off in december 2006, and my mom did attend.

Hi! Don't get to log on too often... so just reading through this now. MANY congratulations to you on a wonderful wedding! Just had to write to let you know that I was in the same situation... got married in 2005 to a FABULOUS guy! But was nervous at first to broach the wedding to my folks (LONG time JWs) (I've been fading like for-ever!!!)
They did attend the wedding, had a BLAST, and now they just love their son-in-law! Amazing. I shouldn't have waited so long (many years we dated) prior to introducing him to them... but old habits die hard I guess. Jbean

My Dad died this evening
by Mulan ini thought i would let you know that my dad, passed away a little while ago, tonight, january 23. they called me at 6pm to tell me.
he had been failing rapidly for the past month, and had completely lost his hearing and was totally blind.
the dementia was extreme too, and he still knew me on thursday, but didn't wake up to know me in the following days.

Conceited Witnesses

i love reading everyone's opinions and seeing links to even more detailed opinions.
it has made me think though.. when i was a strong dub i thought i knew everything about the bible and couldn't wait to 'get into it' with a catholic or protestant priest.

OMG... so familiar! Just had a conversation which ended in yet another argument with my mom last night! She is so totally miserable and blames "Satan's system", NOT the organization. I told her that of course she's miserable... she's so wrapped up in "do's and don'ts" and worries about getting in trouble and who's watching every move of everyone else... jeez. But she states that it isn't that way at all. Right in the middle of it and so blind still. I've been "out" for a while (did the sllllooooowww fade)... and told her that my life right now was absolutely fabulous, to which she replied, "no it's not", to which I replied, "yes it is"... no, yes, no, yes... you get the picture. Anyhow... Jdubs vaccillate between dense and conceited about their lot in life. She just KNOWS it's the truth. No real rationale. (sigh). Jbean

Ah! Thursday! Meeting Night!
by Nosferatu inafter i left the jws and moved out, it was weird having all these evenings to myself.
i think sunday was the easiest day to get used to without meetings.
it just made my weekend a bit longer.

Hi everyone! Haven't been posting here in about a year... not for any other reason than my life is going most excellently now and I've been so busy with work, social life, etc. that I log on just to read about what's going on and to keep up with stuff... but haven't had too much reason to write. HAD to reply to this post though... oh my goodness... my weeks now are SO relaxed without having to go to meetings on top of meetings!!! I get to watch "the IDOL" on Tuesdays but then have to report it in detail to my mom, who goes to the hall and unfortunately doesn't get to see it! She says she'd rather be at the hall, but I don't buy it. hee! Comments about being able to take courses, sports, etc. rather than sit in a chair listening to the safe stuff over and over again are so true... my life has become everso much richer in the past few years. (Not to mentioned getting to join co-workers for happy hours on Thursdays now!!! very festive!) Anyhow... just wanted to touch base. Hope everyone is well. Jbean
