We have heard of the saying “You lie so much you believe yourself". Well, I think that that’s the case with the GB as a whole, even if each of them as individuals doesn’t believe in certain JW doctrines. They feel obligated to support the false teachings and erroneous interpretations for their own protection, personal security and stability. As long as they see artificial “growth” and the R&F following along, they’ll continue believing that some how they are right.

I’m reading all of your posts, testimonies and suggestions. I’m gathering ideas to have plan A, B and C. Considering all the possibilities and possible outcomes. I’m taking notes, keep ’em coming.
You know, ever since I felt in my heart that I can no longer support the WT Org, having a good night sleep has become very hard. The anxiety that I’m experiencing is serving as an affirmation that the WT exert an unhealthy power over one’s mind and emotions.
It’s a strong contradiction, because in my spirit, I’m calm and at peace with my conscience. I’m not afraid of being out because I lived outside of this religion before, many of my family members are not JWs and my JW friends really don’t play a big part in my life. So the anxiety I feel in my subconscious was implanted, it’s unnatural and right down malicious.
Who would of think that to leave a religion you have to make a meticulous plan?

Thanks for the references. I’m reading some of the posts from OTWO and
SSPO
are you able to trick your wife?
Nope. She knows I’ve been having doubts for a longtime. I made the mistake of wanting laid everything out on the table to her when I realized that I no longer believe in some of the WT doctrines. So, if I pull the “depressed card” she’ll know that I’m faking it.

I’m working on my exit strategy out of the Watchtower Org. I’ve set my mind to be out by the end of 2010 or mid 2011.
I’d like to avoid getting DF and disassociating my self is also an undesirable option. Don’t get me wrong, I’m ready to face the consequences of my action but I want to avoid tension at home with my wife (we have no children yet).
Now, consider my current situation and if you’ve been there please give me your input on how to fade successfully.
I’m a very active elder. Always at the meeting at least 20 min before it starts, report an average 15hr to 25 hr of FS. My wife and I are considered by many an exemplary couple (we have a good marriage). We are very hospitable, at least twice a month we have bro/sis in our home. The only thing that’s holding the CO and the Coordinator (PO) back from giving me more “privileges” is that I’m not a “pioneer” (in all honest, I don’t want more. But you can only imagine the pressure I get to become one).
Another thing is that the other elders in my cong. will not really hunt me down, but if my wife remains active and doesn’t “wake up” I know that from time to time I’ll be getting visits from them. They’ll give up eventually and leave me alone.
So now, how can I fade and avoid the shock effect? (I have an idea, but will appreciate your suggestions).

Hello Julie,
Hi my name is _______ welcome to the board. I’m also new, just 16 days and counting. I’m still in the religion, but mentally liberating myself from the guilt. I’m glad I joined because as you’ll soon find out, the JWN forum is a good way to express your emotions about this religion. Since the day I joined and started to post my opinion I’ve been less anxious. So welcome to the board.

We’ll be studying this new book after the Keep In God’s Love book next year.
Sacolton
This book is very different from the GM book. Is more personal and it goes into the practical ways that we can be good followers of Jesus.
I have to agree with some of the other comments made about this publication, it’s a good book, you’ll just need to cross a line on the typical WT curb balls.

I heard a comment from a former JW. He said “when you read the NT as applying to yourself it takes a whole different meaning”. I put it to the test, got a different translation and began reading the letter to the Galatians – a real aye opener- then all the Pauline letters and the Matthew Gospel. In less than 3 months, I began to feel the closest connection to Jehovah and His Son than I ever felt in 10 plus year of association with the witnesses.
I find it ironic how the GB pushes the R&F to grad people who need to feel connected to their Creator, then gives them a false sense of spirituality and later robs them from the most important relationship that a man and a woman could have… a truly personal relationship with their Creator and God.

Jesus or Governing Body...Who's the Mediator?
by AwSnap inwhat do you think the jw response would be if i asked if the faithful&discreet slave is considered to mediate for jw's?
would they admit that?...or would they say that jesus is?
from what i've seen here, they seem to acknowledge that the governing body/fds mediates.

Many JW are not aware of this doctrine. I’m almost sure that if you ask this question to the average witness they’ll say Jesus is our mediator. Keep in mind that this teaching is not frequently mentioned in the WT literature. I think that only the “old timers” are more familiar with this.
I found a very revealing comment of 1 Tim 2:5 in Wesley’s Notes.
2:5 For - The fourth verse is proved by the fifth; the first, by the fourth. There is one God - And they who have not him, through the one Mediator, have no God. One mediator also - We could not rejoice that there is a God, were there not a mediator also; one who stands between God and men, to reconcile man to God, and to transact the whole affair of our salvation. This excludes all other mediators, as saints and angels, whom the Papists [Governing Body] set up and idolatrously worship as such: just as the heathens of old set up many mediators, to pacify their superior gods. The man - Therefore all men are to apply to this mediator, who gave himself for all.
In essence, the GB is setting themselves above Christ and can be rightfully accused of promoting idolatry.

Heartbreaker,
Chapter 7 of C of C covers the basics for the flaws in the 607 date Wt’s teaching very nicely.
