  That's stupid. If you start with the revolt of the Jews against Artaxexes in 350 BC and add the 2300 days of Daniel 8:14 you arrive at 1951 the year I was born. All the rest of the people born in 1951 are nobodies so I must be somebody special. I could add a thousand pages of cut and paste history but I'm too lazy so you'll have to take my statement on faith. All information is free of charge, although I wouldn't be offended by a small donation. Well, I will be if its TOO small, but remember its for a good cause.

  How would you feel if your coworkers pooled in on Powerball lottery tickets and won, and you didn't participate?

  i just recieved an email stating that the folks here won $8.00 over the weekend.

  so they're going to use the money to procure more tickets and i believe the jackpot is up to like $260 million or some other crazy figure.

  i never participate and i absolutely enjoy watching them waste their money on tickets with a smug haughtiness that only an active jw can muster.

  A couple of "look on the bright side" thoughts. There are some studies showing that many lottery winners report they are less happy after winning. Also you will be first in line for a better job left behind by one of the winners.

  If the office pool loses, but you want to have some fun with the boss; leave a note for him saying you won, thanking him for everything and come in about fifteen minutes after he gets there. This assumes your boss has a sense of humor.

  just a recap.. i posted a thread yesterday about an exchange of e-mails with a well known and respected elder and c.o.

  sibstitute in a spanish circuit somewhere in the u.s. the man is about 50, raised in the truth, belongs to a family where all men are at least elders.

  he is proud to have forsaken his dream of becoming a doctor to serve jehovah.

  they boil down to matters ofopinion that cannot be unconditionally proven true or false .

  Ask him this: if the above is true, why does the WT insist that we believe one over the other. Why can't it let us decide which of two equally valid possibilities we want to accept for ourselves, or just let us live with not knowing for sure?

  Of course the answer to that is the WTBS thinks it needs to have the one right answer to everything.

  fortunately, i don't have an arrest record.. but i was arrested one day walking through a parking lot when a young woman was struggling to exit her low-slung sports car with no knickers on..

  my friend was a jw and gave signatuory rights to her business accounts to her good friend, sue, a regular pioneer.

  sue is married to a much older man, john and they have two boys.

  my friend was welcomed into their home and lived with them for 4 years.

  Ok, I'm an accountant. The following is based on general US pracitce and laws.

  Signatory power on a company bank account do not give you the right to write checks to yourself. By "fraud squad" do you mean the police? If they are not pursuing this they are not doing there job. Your friend needs a lawyer that will push this, tell her to call legal aid. If this really involves 120K it might be federal bank fraud. Call to the feds wouldn't hurt.
