Thanks so much for posting that. I dont really read long articles as a rule because I dont have a lot of spare time, but that had me captivated. It described many of the feelings I have had since leaving the org. A very honest and refreshing read.

Psychology of Losing Faith
by daniel-p ini found this a very interesting article, concerning the psychological stresses involved in losing ones' faith (the title doesn't really do it justice):.
an atheist in the pulpitpublic identity and private belief are never more at odds than when a preacher loses his faith.

Is it sexual harassment...
by keyser soze in...if you check out a female co-worker from behind?
according to a harassment class i attended for work it is.
and if i see a co-worker doing this i'm obligated to report him to an hr representative.

As a female I don't think its harrassment. If I was looking at someone thinking 'nice' and they looked at me I would probably look away quickly. I think it would be harrassment if you started to make lewd remarks or suggestive face/body language.

How About You Ladies Then, Body or Face?
by finallysomepride in.
so let's reverse it, do you choose men by their face or bodies, or other parts maybe?.

Just by appearance it would have to be face, but including other attributes then I would say 'brain/mind'

New (non Witness) here
by juci32 inhello guys!i am just introducing myself here.
i have been visiting this site for about a year but never really posted much but i have really learned and enjoyed the topics on this forum, in fact i think this is the best discussion forum i have yet to come across .. a little about my situation is i am a non religious person married to a devout witness, when i met him 4 yrs ago he was out in the "world", never really mentioned his beliefs as we were enjoying life without it.
the more we dated the more i realized that something wasn't right.

Hello and welcome. I am new here myself. So sorry about the situation you are in. My husband is a witness so I know where you are coming from, although my situation is not quite the same as I was once a witness too. I stopped going to meetings a few months ago and my husband is still in. You have found a good place to come. There is a wealth of advice here and lots of support.
take care

I was at a crisis point in my life - marriage break up, problems with family, work, short of money and thinking 'what the hell is this all about'. They came knocking and I accepted a bible study because I was curious. I didnt know much about the Bible and thought perhaps it contained the meaning of life. I liked the idea of living forever in perfect health in the squeaky clean world their pictures showed. However, it took a good 18 months to indoctrinate me as I had far too many questions. For most of the time of being in I would have sworn I wasnt brainwashed and that everything made perfect sense. But being questioner and a thinker, there were too many niggles - baptising children, 1914, faithful slave class, the ridiculous memorial etc. Eventually the light got brighter and brighter and I couldnt ignore the alarm bells clanging in my head so I did a lot of research and started to use my brain and well, here I am out. I think they just came along at a low time in my life when I wanted to believe there was a better life than this.
