what did/do you use to cope with boredom at the meetings?.
as sad as this sounds, when i was a kid and desperate for anything to do at a meeting, i used to count the punctuation in each wt study article.
i had a system.
I used to take my son into the second school and look through all the old copies of Russell's studies in the scriptures in the library. Look through the old song book that still had silent night as one of the songs.
We would play eye spy and hangman.
Now I try to avoid going unless I have too it's not the boredom I object to but the fear that some of it may still go in when I've been lulled into a hypnotic state by the song..
Not any more. When I first found the site I was very secretive about it.

I was totally disgusted at this account particularly the tragic stories of the sister from Thailand and the diabetic brother. Total heartlessness. That alone without the false doctrine would be enough.
Shunning is wrong, the doctrine is wrong and the false prophet has been exposed for all to see.
I know it is long but persevere with it it is worthwhile.
would you use the handicap stall that is big and roomy ... even if other smaller stalls were available?.
When I had small children who needed to use the bathroom then I would use the handicaped stall as dealing with a pushchair and my own mini toilet queue meant it was the most practical option. I would always check that no actual handicaped needed the toilet first but as a mum you do what you have to to get by.

I have had some bad experiences with JW people, a plumber who has left my cistern to leak and damaged the downpipe into the drain. I've had good experiences of top tradesmen who knew what they were doing and did a great job but were pricey.
I've had JWs who lied to try to get me to work for them for peanuts telling me that money wasn't the most important thing in life. My response was if you want the skills you have to pay for them, this is a business transaction not a school assignment.
If I had the choice I would use whoever was the most skilled person for the job who offered the best value for money, witness or non witness. On the other side I would never work for a witness again.

why not accept life now, while you have it, and understand that like all others before you, you are going to die too.
you won't wake from that.
Leaving the organisation is like going through a double bereavement. In the past when we lost people we loved in death it was a temporary pain. Although we grieved it was all going to be ok eventually because we would see them again and be with them again. When I woke up to the lies of the organisation it was as if I lost those people all over again. coming to terms with no paradise meant coming to terms with no resurrection.
I think clinging to a dream and postponing getting on with life is damaging but it also takes time to let go not of the dream but the hope tangled up in it that is the hard part. I really wish there is something out there but as I don't know for sure I will live my life in the hope there is, but make sure I make the most of my time here.

what took place in the first century, as far as removing the wicked from among the congregation in the first century i find no fault with.
my bone of contention is, should the governing body of the watchtower society, with their elder arrangement, take it upon themselves, to follow exactly, the lead of those first century christian's, and disfellowship the many that they have today?.
Very thought provoking and well thought out argument. The Dfing doctrine is an abuse of power within the congregation and as such has lost it's meaning. It is argued it keeps the congregation clean but how can that be true when there is so much bad conduct being swept under the carpet? It is a cruel mechanism that manifests the superiority of an organisation over family ties.
I think that I'd like to live long enough to accomplish everything I want in life. Eternal life would be great so long as at some point I'd be allowed some time off.
