"When I did search, one of the things I found was that the JW's are like just about every other sect of christianity, LOST." But I got reinstated! Hurray!!! Now it makes even less sense to me... But to each his own. By all means.

WOW!
Another story. This time from Russia. During the time of Stalin children at schools were put through this exercise: They were told to pray really hard with their eyes closed and ask God for a candy. Of course, nothing happened. Then they were "praying" to Stalin... and when they opened their eyes Behold! - Each of them had a candy in front of them!... Well, you can imagine what effect it had on those little impressionable children.

Do you hold any ''responsibility'' for the believing the WTS?
by RULES & REGULATIONS injehovah's witnesses are the only people that will inherit life on paradise earth.
only jehovah's witnesses have the ''truth''.
the wts is the only ''channel' 'to jehovah.

No. When I became a Witness I was in a communist country, it was before the Internet, I believed it because the teachings were shown to me straight from the Bible, and my brother just passed away...

"It is our Personal Responsibility to Turn In People who are Sinning"
by WalkTall inat the last two meetings i have been to, two brothers mentioned in their parts that we have a personal responsibility to turn in someone we know who is involved in wrongdoing.
they both said we need to do this out of love and because we could also lose our own relationship with jehovah if we fail to do so.
it struck how odd this all is.

Terry - I made the same connection - In Nazi Germany it was your duty as a citizen to report on your family members and your neighbours. As it was in Communist countries. My grandparents lived through the first one, my parents and myself through the second. When I started to feel that the organization is becoming more and more totalitarian I got this really bad feeling (kind of deja vu) and left.

Does anyone here ever feel that they don't fit in
by cantleave inyou no longer fit in with the jw's and aren't yet accepted by those outside either?.

I'm fine now but I never felt like a fit among JWs - They (most of them) were so annoingly "perfect" and uniform. I like people with personality.

leaving the wt - why?
by rockmehardplace inso for some people, there is the one breaking point that makes people leave.
for me, not so much about doctrine, but about how people treated one another.
i always heard that we show we are the true religion because we have love among ourselves.

People see what they WANT to see. Living forever on paradise earth is an awesome prospect and many people sacrificed too much for it to let it go...

by doublelife ini was just hanging up my husband's shirts and started on the section where he had his dress shirts.
but what i thought in my head was "meeting shirts.
" and i quickly realized that i have to start saying "dress shirts" instead.

Meeting clothes - absolutely. That's why I don't wear skirts anymore... except jean skirts.
