After seeing so many topics about the stupidity of the GB, just got me wondering, anyone know the secular education levels of the GB? Are they High School level religious zealots or are they college educated manipulators?

This GB just wants its faces out there, they came out from behind the curtain and showed themselves...to be complete idiots. Especially Morris, a special brand of religitard that one is, his annual meeting talk made me want to vomit, he's just an idiotic bigot.
Before the GB showed up on the scene they were a mysterious entity, now they broke the spell and showed themselves for the old religious bigots that they are.

at the current district convention as you know the wt society released a " sophie & caleb " video allegedly warning parents about the dangers of child abuse.
they don't really use the words " child abuse " in the video - but just say if " someone tries to touch you in a manner you aren't comfortable with " and portray it as a cartoon !

) was filled with blatantly fallacious reasoning that were outdone only by the more fallacious reasoning on the part of commenting jws.. the article, in paragraph 2, says this about a relationship with jehovah:.

It's absolutely asinine what the GB preaches about if you feel Jehovah's approval from your relationship with/prayer to him.
The scripture says something very different, Jesus said at John 14: 13,14 "Also, whatever you ask in my name, I will do this, so that the Father may be glorified in connection with the Son. If you ask anything in my name, I will do it."
What's there to feel here? It's completely unambiguous what Jesus says here, 'ask in my name and you'll receive it.' No caveats, no conditions, no "well I may or may not answer," or "only under situations that could be just coincidence will I answer your petitions."
So if I ask in faith (which I did back when faith was actually a part of my life) "Please help the _______ family stay strong in the truth through the trial they're facing." That prayer should definitely be answered, it meets every criteria you can throw at it, it's in line with "Gods will," it's not of selfish pursuit, it was made in complete faith... yet that family left the "truth," what gives? Prayer is bogus is what gives, either Jehovah heard my prayer and didn't care to answer it, or he heard but couldn't answer, or his answer was to let them go in which case what happened to his "desire all to attain to repentance" schtick and if that was going to be the outcome anyway why pray at all? Or the simplest and most concise reason, he doesn't exist at all, so of course the prayer went unanswered.

I hate the fact that we'll probably never see a GB member interviewed in such a manner. Would love to see the likes of Sam Harris or Richard Dawkins interviewing a JW elder or especially a member of the GB asking them such hard questions. -

That's why I say that while talking to a JW can be a very pleasant experience, they're very nice to talk to, but to get to the core of what they believe is going to happen to those "of the world," is to find something truly horrific.
JW beliefs and Human Rights can't coexist, they're simply incompatible. JWs can be nice to the face of a Homosexual, all the while tacitly believing they'll pay for their sin. It's insane to know that I once thought this way.

lol Awesome interview! That's the deal, JWs have their beliefs but no real way of rationalizing them when pressed for hard answers. Present them with logical fallacies within their beliefs and they have to come up with bull$#!@ on the spot in retort or simply say, "I'll have to do research," and come back to you with the bull$#!@ they find or not return at all when they can't find an answer from their precious GB.
You see the same in Islam, believers will profess Islam as a religion of peace, but when pressed and specifically questioned on whether or not they would personally be in support of Sharia Law or a Caliphate being established, along with the stoning of adulterers, death penalty for homosexuals, genital mutilation of young girls, etc... they struggle to answer and then just try to dodge.
The majority of religions have no correlation with basic Human Rights, they're incompatible.
I would say the same for JWs, they profess to be peaceful and while individually you can have very pleasant conversations with them, as I'm sure you could with a majority of those of Islamic belief, however, their claims of being 'religions of peace,' are really misleading statements due to what they believe will happen to those not of their faith.
What I gather is, they're religions of peace only IF you're of the ones believing them, IF all the people believed as you do there'd be peace, thus my religion is one of peace. If you're of another faith, if you're a non-believer, or if you break the rules I adhere to, my religion will not be very peaceful for YOU. The only difference is the most extreme carry this judgement out themselves while JWs are just waiting on Jehovah to carry out his wrath and "justice."
It's the whole in/out group mentality for JWs as well as many other religions, their worldviews are completely skewed by their beliefs.

Do JW's use the bible to preach anymore?

I was an MS for a about a year, pioneered for about half of that time, and through it all kept my actual preaching to a minimum. Most of my pioneer hours were informal at work pretty casual conversation, early morning where you basically just hand out magazines, and even when I did go D2D I kept it very brief, any returns were more or less regular conversation, never pushed for studies. I only did what I had to do to get the hours and keep my position. I became very apathetic towards preaching.
As time went on, I more and more realized how little my beliefs were really playing a part in my life so why would I want to preach to someone else to bring them into this religion?
