I can almost 100% guarantee that any homeowner insurance policy payouts were signed over to the watchtower society. The watchtower made a lot of money off this disaster.

Meeting for not paying assembly fees???!!!!
by Kool Jo inhey folks......has anyone else heard of, or experienced this before?.
i visited by parents over the weekend and accompanied them to their assembly....same rubbish spoken about since ive been born....obey the gb, donate your last penny, no education and be a pushover.. anyways, our assembly hall has lush vegetation and scenery, so i was more focused on that....i started dozing off after lunch, so got up and went walking, saw some older folks from the congregation i grew up with.. upon the conclusion of the assembly, wed normally leave out right after the prayer ends so as to avoid the traffic.
however, for this assembly he told me that hes gonna be a few minutes with the elders and branch representatives...so a few minutes turned into an hour..

My parents complain about these kinds of things too but when I tell them to vote with their wallets they get angry. They keep repeating the same behaviour over and over. Seems like the religion has got them hard wired to be repeatedly hosed. Oh well it's their money they can do with it as they wish.

a young 14 year old girl was disfellowshipped in my former congregation last week
by alexandre ina baptized girl from my former cong.
was expelled out because she participated in more than one porn videos with classmates in the school and theses videos became public.
she is 14 years old and grew up as witnesses.but anybody knows she had many boyfriends and she-, but that thing was unbelievable!

Repentance has nothing to do with not being disfellowshipped. Its all about how many know about the sin. If the general public knows about it then it is an automatic disfellowship. If only a few in the congregation know, the sinner has connections in the congregation, and APPEARS to be in good standing they can literally get away with murder.
Recently a single pioneer/elder was screwing a single pioneer sister and it was swept under the carpet. They both kept their position in the congregation.
It is not a surprise that young jehovahs witnesses are aware of pornography. It is in the watchtower every other week it seems. Little kids being exposed to adult topics at the kingdom hall.
I also do hope for the sake of this young teenager that she is able to get the real help she needs.

Recent Update - Service Report
by Da.Furious inon oct. 22, eight brothers were released from prison in turkmenistan by presidential amnesty.
(see 2014 yearbook, p. 31) the ninth brother is still imprisoned, but it is hoped that he will be released shortly.
some were already in prison for three or more years and had been severely mistreated.

by purrpurr intonights book study in part is about jesus throwing out the merchants and money lenders in the temple... how do they manage to tally that up with asking for funds for all their various projects?
it seems hardly a meeting goes by without some kind of money plea?
don't they realise that they are doing the same thing that jesus got so angry about and threw out of the temple?

My family shuns us to a certain extent too. It is just the sick way that they try to control our life. My wife and I found a new circle of friends and ignore our family. They phone once in a while but are starting to figure out that the guilt trips don't work anymore.

NEW LEVY FORCED ON WITNESSES?

sorry if this is old news.. just heard from someone whose meeting is on a tuesday evening; basically, 3 per publisher is to be levied to "replace" the kh insurance payment.
the money will be used for damage, vandalism, & disasters, but also to protect any of the societies' entities.. .

In Canada they require the congregations to pay so much per publisher for an insurance policy, but when there is a claim they ask for donations from the congregations to cover the cost of the damages.

new assembly experience... what do you reckon to this one?
by purrpurr inok so aparently there was this young girl who wanted to study with the jw's because she loved the bible so much.
she asked her fathers permission but he refused, after much nagging though he said she could have a study if she was prepared to have one of her fingers chopped off.
he thought the is would stop her but she was willing so he got a knife and cut off one of her fingers... a little while later she wanted to attend the meetings and he said no and again when nagged said she could attend meetings if she had another finger chopped off so she agreed and he chopped off a second finger.
