  "You are still married, and still happy ?"

  i met an aging, well, late sixties, pioneer sister a few days back, from a congregation four removes away, and a different circuit to my old congo.

  i have known her since i was a kid.. i wasn't quite sure at first if she knew our "status" as we exchanged pleasantries, but it soon became clear she knew exactly our situation, that we walked away a few years ago.. she asked me about my views on life now, and listened respectfully, and said she appreciated my view, but a couple of questions that she threw at me, as in the thread title, showed that she was surprised that mrs phizzy and i had not gone off the rails after we left.. the mind control goes so very deep does it not ?

  she was surprised that our marriage hadn't failed, and that we were now happy.. i wonder if she will ever make the connection that the jw org has lied to her about those of us who leave ?.

  Left together and still very much in love. I do think the witnesses are surprised to see us still together, they always have been told how bad things turn out if you leave.

  Governing Body Helpers ----- Who are they? Are they future GB in the making?

  so after nearly 15 to 19 years of not attending a convention, i can't recall exactly, i went to one last year.

  the brother giving the talk was from bethel and was introduced as a helper of the governing body.

  it was a title i never heard of before.

  I remember back in the 90s when they started the helper arrangement there was a lot of speculation that Armageddon was imminent because the helpers were other sheep and could run things on the earth when the gb went to heaven at the big A.

  I ended up watching the whole part on education.  Brumley said after he went to college he became competitive and wouldn't recommend college to others.  

  Tight pants made the comment that bethel won't send anymore members to college to be lawyers.  

  He ended the rant by saying the best career is pioneering and that's what young Jws should do.

  jehovah's witnesses claim no one is disfellowshipped for pursuing higher education.

  somehow it seems there must be some halfwit sorry excuse for an elder somewhere who personally felt threatened by over educated young whippersnappers and decided to mark every nerd he could point his sweaty little finger with.

  this is going around the kingdom halls now, i thought it was a hoax but are not all the end time dates produced by the organization some hoax or con?

  the reason why the end did not come in 1975 was the watchtower society had not put eve's creation in their equation.

  i was told when we had a "meet and greet" if "we knew the date of eve's creation we would know the year jehovah was going to destroy the earth.. it's been 40 years since 1975, can you believe it's been 40 years since "stay alive till 1975!"?
