  Fuel From a Garden Hose - Hydrogen Fuel

  has anyone here thought about the possibilities of getting all of our fuel needs from the unlimited supply of hydrogen in our water?

  you see, there two parts hydrogen to every single part oxygen in h2o.

  what that means is, if we can extract the hydrogen from the water, we can burn it as a fuel, just like propane or gasoline.

  Dave,

  Seems to me the best alternative we have, or ever will have is the electric motor. We can plug in at home, recharge and run the next day. If only a small percentage of the population, (like me, who only travel short distances to work) would use this technology, we could cut down on a lot of CO2 in the atmosphere. If we can't get Hydrogen to work safely, effectively and cheaply then I think electric cars must be the future.

  Yeah - the future - except GM crushed them all... True you have to plug them in, but solar and wind are options that could be looked in too. Even if everyone was electric or hydrogen the energy has to come from somewhere - which is coal, it takes more energy to make hydrogen then it does electricity...in my mind, it's more tangible to keep with the electric until hydrogen becomes more viable - at this point, it really isn't.

  we'll never be "right", not completely anyway.. so for a spin-off of a spin-off...i'm curious what others thoughts are on this statement?.

  is it a worldview a lot of us have?

  Cat is in trouble- advice?

  my mom's cat got into some of her embroidery floss and swallowed it.. this was maybe three days ago.

  her vet won't see him, too busy.

  he's not eating much at all now, and i fear the worst.

  Aww - poor kitty.

  In that situation I think you made the right call. It's horrible, but accidents happen. When your mom is ready I think she should get another cat from a shelter.

  it might be easier to dress modestly.

  think about it, there is always admonitions against slits in skirts (which a lot of skirts have), too short dresses and skirts, etc.

  not to mention not having to worry about someone peeping up your dress as you walk up the bleachers at the dc.

  It's all about being different from the "world". If the womenfolk wear pants it will cut down on the gawk factor thus reducing the opportunities to offer a fine witness...

  how common it is to see this in the witnesses.

  there are different definitions of nesters, but the one i am here using is children who are old enough where they should have left home, who are still permanently living with their parents.

  i am also discounting those who, for lack of opportunity or for timing reasons are living with parents until other arrangements kick in.

  Meeting RollerDave and seeing his aposta-truck up close

  sometimes when someone new comes on the board and makes a big splash, you wonder if it's all for real.. rollerdave arrived on this board in the last couple months and has lit it up with his insight and wit, including recent experiences dealing with his old family and congregation.. after i pm'd dave here i learned he was indeed the same dave i knew back in a north-side minneapolis kingdom hall oh so many years ago.

  we talked on the phone last weekend and actually got together for the first time last night.

  as i expected he is just as genuine and witty and fun as he shows on this discussion board.

  Not worth the effort - she will always love her God more than you -- unless of course you convert. It's best to let that whole can of worms remain unopened. Find a girl who has her priorties straight.

  Well, well, well, things are certainly changing...

  you know here lately, my life has had lots of ups and downs.

  this was my first year of not going to district convention, my (step) grandpa developed brain cancer, my dad and most of his family won't speak to me, and my girlfriend and i were having troubles.

  on the other hand, my mom and her side of the family have embraced me, my cousin (that left the borg) and i are closer than ever, my girlfriend is super, my band plays all the time, and i've got a great group of friends.

  Very cool Blues. It has to be exciting to have someone you can bounce ideas off of. It's tremendously helpful to have someone close to you who knows the in's and out's who you can be honest and frank with about what you're finding out and piecing together for yourself.

  Honestly tho, I'm curious why the need to get the family out?
