JH has it right. resurrected have no sex, otherwise whose spouse would you be in the new system if you remarried. Also, the general thought was that since the purpose of sex was to fill the earth, that when the earth was filled there would be no more sex. But surely, Jehovah would replace it with something much cooler.

religion is about power, it always has been, but its not as masked about it as it used to be, its flagrant. i don't think its near its end either.

the supposedly "missing" publishers.
recall your own first year of field slavery: you needed to be going out in service regularly, and turning in time, before you even qualified for baptism, didn't you?

they count people who count time, as little as 15 minutes.
i actually think the memorial attendance minus average publishers number is the most telling. it shows how many people think of themselves as witnesses but do not actively participate.
who knows if they even report the numbers honestly.
what is more important is how much influence they have over x amount of people's lives. even witnesses who count time show a smaller amount of influence over their lives. they want influence because they want time, they want time because they want them to sell books.
the most important numbers to the watchtower is the number of publications placed and amount of donations received. that is the core.

actually, if she were getting too close to a boy, i probably wouldn't know how to handle it either....lol.
but, as a parent, i'm not sure how to talk to her about it, as it's something i'm familar with.

christians are freaky man, like scary freaky. but its good to see how nonsensical their superstitions can be.
rationality is the only way to deal with life and the curves it throws us. believing in demon spirits, miracles, fairy godmothers or rabbit's feet will not benefit us while research, discussion and thoughtful decision making certainly will.

i put in for extra hours.. in the off chance we get wrapped up in discussion, what should i say?.

Did you ever get any "Bad Advice" from Elders or Ministerial Servants?

i remember once, an elder told me that i could become a full time pioneer.
i was working 40 hours a week, and had a seasonal job 7 months a year.. the way he figured it out, i could work 8 hours during my day, then go to my meetings, and still find 3 or 4 hours to preach that same day...... i told him to go climb a tree.

my opinion based on my experience with elder advice is that they give their personal opinions which are based on their own personal bias, why do you need three people on a Judicial committee if the decision is reached by prayer and direction from Jehovah, wouldn't one do?

wishing she was asexual, telling her you don't want her to have sex or trying to arrange it so the two girls can't have sex are all wastes of time.
you need to ground her with good reasons not to be having sex and let her talk a LOT about her feelings. her ability to talk openly will reinforce her attachment to you and will make her desire to please you by obeying you stronger.

i knew i was gay when i was 13 so its not a surprise that she is self identifying as lesbian at 14. i would encourage her to be discreet for her own protection in your small town. although you might be surprised how open small town people are to acceptance.
i think you should have a sexual talk with her just as if she was dating a boy. she should be educated about the health issues involved. lesbians can pass sexual transmitted diseases to each other. she should be educated about the emotional side of sex and the affects to her psychological well being that casual sex can have. yeah, sex is fun, but there is a reason its for adults, it takes a large degree of emotion to understand it and deal with it.
for yourself, educate yourself on lesbianism. encourage her to read mature books on lesbianism, perhaps an older lesbian she admires. then she will hear the good, the bad and the ugly of what a lesbian's life can be like.
there are many lesbians here that can probably offer you more specific advice. i certainly applaud your loving view of the situation.
