A JW just telephoned me... heh heh heh...
by Quotes init must be the end-of-the-mont-scramble to get time in.
i just got off the phone with a gentleman who, talking approx 1000 words per minute, so that i could almost not understand what he said, identified himself as "navin", and wanted to "share a scripture with me".
he clearly did not know who i am or my history, or my website hobby.

You hit the nail on the head Quotes with your comments re: "pure language". Householders must be absolutely mystified when they get called on by someone who forgets that the rest of the world has no idea what their phrases mean.

Hey New Light - you hit the nail on the head. I remember that shocking announcement in the Kingdom Ministry when the first CD-ROM came out around 1993. I remember thinking to myself, "Huh? The cost of production is around a couple of bucks!?"
Further proof that it's simply a publishing company and nothing more.

Zebras (Awake! magazine Jan 2001)
by Duncan inwell, weve been in our new house now for almost two years, and we finally got our first visit from the witnesses, a couple of days ago.. two very nice middle-aged ladies stood on my doorstep, asking me would i accept their two magazines for free?
- they were old issues from january well, how could i refuse?.
its gods will that zebras are striped and thats the beginning and end of it.. for an educational magazine this is just a disgrace.. can you hear the voice of the great teacher in this?

this has probably been mentioned before, but...
by LuckyNun inif you're like me, you used to dread certain days of the week.
mainly, tuesdays and thursdays for me.
waste the entire day at school, then come home, take a shower, scarf down supper and be ready to go by 6:30pm.

This is all too true. We used to have Monday night bookstudy (not so bad as I either read or conducted) but Thursday night Minstry School/Service Meetings. These were absolutely painful days to wake up on. You felt a true sense of dread during the day knowing, but were relieved at the closing prayer when you could get out. We'd often go to Dairy Queen and hang out afterwards. I loved skipping the meeting to watch Cheers and then later Seinfeld. What made the Service meeting so painful was the fact that they could run so badly overtime on some of the parts, or that the meeting was a forum for the heavy brow-beating by the harsh elders, phony field service demonstrations etc.
