  My Son's JW Mom Sends Him Condescending "Guilt Inspiring" E-Mail

  first of all- a little history.

  my ex-wife a fanatic jw seems to be in a pissing match ( not of my choosing ) with me over trying to get my son back into the jw cult.

  he's 25, been out of the witnesses since 17 and he is very happy with his life .he has a great girlfriend, he enjoys gardening growing his own vegetables and he is a performing singer/guitarist now writing songs and performing in front of hundreds of people .

  Ugly Sisters

  o.k i have noticed that most female jws are ugly.and by ugly i mean ugly.they won't work out,they are fat and won't go on a diet (some female teens won't even shave their legs),they neglect their appearance/body in general.any opinions?.

  .

  p.s many will eventually get fat after marriage.

  there's an old silly song that goes something like "if you wanna be happy for the rest of your life, never make a pretty woman your wife...but from my personal point of view, get an ugly girl to marry you" LOL somehow that seemed appropriate to the topic :-P

  I agree with bluecanary A LOT about the whole stereotype of fat = ugly. I've had the unfortunate experience of being big my entire life. I was born chunky, I'm gonna die chunky, that's just all there is to it. A lot of it is genetics in my case. That being said, though, I gotta toot my own horn and say I have an ADORABLE face. I have gorgeous eyes, pretty decent skin, no "need" for makeup and I cannot tell you how many millions of compliments I have received in my life over my smile. I have probably one of the most awesome smiles you'll ever see LOL I'm sure that sounds conceited, but when that's all you hear your whole life, who am I to argue?? :-P I literally was probably "known" for my smile.

  Despite being "cute", though.....the brothers NEVER looked my way. EVER. There were far too many other girls to choose from. As it was pointed out, the brothers are way outnumbered, so they pretty much have their pick of the litter. It didn't even matter when I was a pioneer. Sure, that gave me SOMETHING to offer with the way the system worked (kudos to guy who mentioned conversations feeling like interviews with spiritual resumes...ugh!)....but there were other pioneers who were thinner, more blonde, more naive, whatever.

  The really sucky part was that I was always really good at being friends with guys. They just never saw me as anything more. I was always the sidekick, never the leading lady.

  c'est la vie.....

  Now that I'm into the ladies, I try to keep in mind that it isn't always about the size of the person. It's the size of their personality. I think that's a good rule to apply in every relationship in life, be it friend or otherwise.

  my personal recommendation: synecdoche, new york.

  it's one of those movies that words fail utterly to capture--which really is the hallmark of a good movie, i suppose.

  well not any others that jump out at me, but again, if you're looking for unusual but strangely intriguing (aka you absolutely enjoyed it but you don't know why lol) then I would say try that Repo: The Genetic Opera movie. UNLESS you don't like movies that have singing in them. Because pretty much the ENTIRE dialogue is sung. But strangely enough, it's not annoying at all lol

  but yeah. definitely unusual yet enjoyable! :D

  (excellent thread idea, btw! I made notes to watch a lot of these movies!)

  CAREFUL! If you just MENTION facebook, the facebook demons will possess you and your computer and you'll have little gigabyte ghosts flying around your house!!! PLUS, you'll end up having a facebook orgy and getting ghonnaherpesyphillis! AND it will make you burn your french toast!

  As with the first installment of this situation, I have not read everyone else's comments, but....WOW. BIG kudos to your son. I don't even know the guy and I'm super proud of him and how he laid it out for "mom". He was both respectful and yet showed how ludicrous the whole thing is. He sounds like an awesome guy and I bet you are one proud father. I know I would be!!!! (if i was a guy, anyway LOLOL)

  I haven't read anyone else's comments yet cuz I'm really too tired lol BUT....that "letter"....that is not from a mother to a son. AT ALL. It definitely pisses me off and makes me want to throw up at the hokey sounding innocence she tries to portray. I mean, come on....MY mom is a demure farm girl that can be shy at times and can also be pretty cheesy...but she would NEVER sound as friggin CHEESY AS HELL as that woman.

  AND it irritates the CRAP outta me when people like to twist the music you write. I wrote a song that I decided to call "devil's day"....and my mom hated it....altho I think she simply hated it for the title alone. But...if you actually listened to the words of the song you would realize that the whole song was about fighting against the devil tryin to get you down and how he was gonna "have his day"...or in other words, get what's coming to him. lolol and yet some people were all weirded out by it.

  At a 2 day assembly ...the point that the brother spoke about that drove me mad....."don't hug your husband, wife or child during prayer".

  i attended one day of a two day assembly and did ok until the very last talk.

  the brother was from bethal and well jw's pay closer attention to their talks, cause that is when some new info is given,,,right.

  well anyways i lost focus and began to daydream, cause it became one of those talks that just talks about wasting time.

  Maybe they should come up with an outline discussing the evils of picking wedgies, adjusting your pantyhose, checking your fly, picking your nose, digging in your ears and all the other subconcious things that people wait until the prayer to do....because after all, everyone should have their eyes CLOSED!!!! :-P
