i've been trying for some time to find the motiviation i needed to completely leave the cult behind.

i'm mean, do it emotionally as well as mentally (whole-souled, right?

), despite still having a lot of family and friends that are cult members.

I hear many people are fed up with Rick and are distancing themselves from him.

This is a fact. I have been contacted by those who feel the same, and they are talking.

The last thing Rick posted regarding the conference call, and I am sorry I cannot find the quote, but, he says "hopefull" regarding Johnny coming back on to be addressed by me. Rick has not responded to emails in which I ask him whether he has contacted Johnny yet, and whether the conference call is a definitely go. And of course, he has not even bothered to discuss the terms I outlined for the conference call. Dirty.

It wouldn't be the first time you've featured a fictitious character on the conference call. Seems perfectly reasonable to have fictitious Johnny's fictitious mother talk about fictitious information. I hearby dub thee, Fictitious Fearon.

Is it me or do the JW's act like the Circuit Overseer is Jesus himself?

i'm sure many have noticed that.

now obviously many more will go out in fs than usual and such because the co brings more "insight" on fs than the usual brothers.

understandable i guess.

The Circuit Overseer is like a disctrict sales manager. He pops in a couple times a year, hits the sales reps with stats and numbers, how much literature has been placed in that congo, how many hours spent peddling publications, how many bible studies . . . tells the reps where and why they suck, or if you're lucky, that the sales office is doing just great. Then he gives a couple of motivational talks to get the publishers back to publishing with more effort, then he blows town.

Personally, I can respect what others try to do even though I may disagree with their methods or think they may be misguided in how they approach things. I'm sure others think the same about me.

And, I know some think the same about me.

Yeah, hi Simon, nice to meet you, and thanks for having me as a guest on your forum.

I understand all that you say, and I now understand that Bowen exemplifies the point you are making. As I said in earlier posts, I really really really do understand the difference between what you do and what the body of elders do in a kingdom hall. Again, I really do understand, and I am so relieved that you do not ban friends and family members from associating with them once they have had their account deactivated. I really do get it.

Please, you mustn't think I was in any way implying that Bowen was unjustly treated by you or any of the moderators on this forum. I simply received word that Bowen was no longer in good standing with many others, which came as a surprise to me. I hadn't realized that Bowen was regarded with such distaste these days.

And sir, I can assure I know precisely what it means to be disfellowshipped from the organization of JW's. I am sorry you are sensative about this issue, and I cannot fault you when so many that have come and gone on this board, by my reading of the threads here, have accused you of acting like the org and/or elders, have been excessively critical of your decisions, etc. I would not want to be accused of being like those people either.

Now that I have been admonished by you, and what would seem to be two other mods, I will go back to what I normally do on this board . . .

Did you watch R rated movies when you were in it?

last night, i watched an r rated movie that featured violence.

at least 30 people were shot in the first 45 min of the movie.. while i was in and an elder, i watched r rated movies all the time just didn't talk about it.

so how many of you watched r rated movies even though "mother" said not to?.

it is any place you know so well your memory of it is intimate knowledge you simply will not forget.

this, in turn, will serve as a mnemonic device or place of safekeeping for anything you wish to remember (forwards or backwards).. memory experts "build" a great many of these for various uses.. .

1.a jar of pickled garlic (here is where you fix the item: imagine in your mind's eye smashing that jar in the middle of the driveway with the juice running out into the street and the pieces of garlic stinking up the neighborhood.

I first read about the memory palace technique in Silence of the Lambs I think it was. Hannibal Lecter had constructed one in his brilliant mind.
