I never look at labels/time/etc. It all means nothing to me.
I like to get to know posters. They are people, you know.
dear concerned forum posters:
i feel at this time, in my long and varied career here at the forum, i must protest to the exalted and respected administator of this site, that a problem does exist in it's "labeling" of posters.
this concerns the titles that are given to posters when they reach a certain amount of posts.

the wife of one of our lawyers is a judge here in dallas, and i overheard her husband telling a couple of other lawyers about this really tough case she has right now: deciding to issue a court order to give blood to premature twins whose parents are witnesses.
i popped in with "i'm an ex-jw -- ask me anything" so he and i started talking about the blood issue.
the father of the twins was in tears in the courtroom -- not because of his babies getting blood but because he was afraid he would be accused of giving his consent to the blood transfusion.
Nina,
I'm glad you were able to educate the lawyer/judge on the silly self-imposed rules of JWs. It is about time that we as xjws can speak up and quit hiding the foolish hidden rules that those people have to live under. The more the rest of the world understands about the insidious, mind controlling actions of JWs the more they will stay away and realize it is a cult.
Hope the babies do ok. Very delicate time of life and they still have a long way to go besides just having blood to help them.

wow, great to hear about *cough* older ones who faded before all the silliness lately. How brave of you!

my name is ayernye... sometimes i go by stephan... it used to be stephen mcguire back when i was a witness in the wilmington and groton massachusetts congregations from '83 - '94.
was a pioneer and ministerial servant and was married for two of those years.
with tremendous agony and confusion, i moved far away to discover myself... took years to adjust to my new reality... drugs... drinking... anything to numb my tired brain... but the transformation was eventual and so worth it... of course... i am now my own person... mostly happy, adjusted and living my life to the best i can... .
heads up, you may want to talk with a poster here by the name of 6of9. He's a photographer and has done his own short film about jws/xjws.
But I say wonderful on your project. Especially while we watch the news about the screwed up Michael Jackson. Don't you think his childhood contributed to his reality???
Anyway, I'm sure you'll have plenty who volunteer, if not, I'll be happy to talk about my past. (see profile) and how happy I am now.

I hope your one and only shirt sees the washing machine before you come.
We don't know for sure, but put us down as a "maybe".

"normally, jehovah's witnesses are content to accept information presented in the watchtower without question.
but, in this case, some highly respected and admired members of the watchtower headquarters staff had been disfellowshiped on charges of "apostasy.
.....and then the house of cards began to fall, huh, cjw.
my wife and i made the fade in the past year or so - a side benefit is now beginning to become apparent.
our adult daughter, who was somewhat estranged due to being df'd has come back into our lives.
[we never did completely shun her, as we never agreed fully with that, but it was always strained because we were under the guilt trip].
wonderful
watching the simpsons the other day.
grandpa simpson said that he'd never accept missouri as ever being a part of the union.
(actually, he pronounced it mizzurah).
lol, I never heard the different pronuntiations were between Reps and Dems. I thought it was between the country people (rah) and snooty, tooty city people (ree).
It does have some beautiful state parks. The young kids in STL would always go camping at Johnson-Shut-Ins. Now that would be a great place for an apostatfest. Or canoeing down the Current River.
There is another state park in the NE area that had a nice lake to go sailing on.
*sigh* fond memories are nice to revisit.

lol, I don't know except Missouri ( pronounced mi-sur-ah) was a split state during the civil war. I grew up in St. Louis, MO and didn't leave the state until I was 32.
but hey, what do I know
.
i have been visited by a local jw woman weekly for almost 4 years and started weekly study about 1 year ago.
friday things took a more serious turn and i am very uncomfortable.. i need advise on how to stop the meetings (without being offensive) and still get away from this madness before it gets out of control.
You sound settled in your decision and that is good.
Wow, you've been hit with a lot lately.
Now take care of yourself and your family.
