Welcome Breakfree! Thank you so much for sharing your story. What those elders did is disgusting. A bunch of perverted men getting off on THEIR OWN thoughts of WHAT THEY WOULD HAVE DONE! I'm sorry your parents took part in this - I know they thought they were doing God's will but God would never ask of such a thing with a child. I cannot understand EVER kicking a child out of the house - 16 is when they need adult support the most! As I've mentioned in many posts before the WTS undermines family in order to preserve loyalty to them and not to family members. They are evil.
I'm glad you have a happy family and a supportive husband. You are free! Live your life and give your kids a wonderful life!
You've come to the right place to share the journey to healing. I wish you and your family all the best.

The Watchtower and the Occult
by brotherdan incame across this interesting expose' on some of the occultic influences that took place during the watchtowers creation.
the implications are very interesting.. .
i had never heard about their use of phrenology...but apparently they believed it to be true.

Brotherdan - they do practice necromancy. They state that the dead ones of the 144,000 communicate to the F&DS. It's in the Revelation book as well. They do have occult beginnings. Pedophelia is also linked to occult practices. As you can see this can be a hot topic. You certainly do have to wade through material and use critical thinking!
A book that might interest you is Be Wise as Serpents by Fritz Springmeier. I think he is still in prison for the things he wrote. I believe you can download it.

How many EX JW therapists are there? Hae you been treated by one?
by hamsterbait ini am thinking of getting some more therapy.. i spent a lot on it - ta - in the mid 90s and it made a huge differenct to me.
i have a few issues to with the dubbies i want to sort - and thought it is prolly a huge saving to see an ex jw therapist as i dont have to waste valuable time explaining the beliefs.. i am concerned there may be a downside to this - transference problems, assuming a level of understanding that is not actually there.. hb.

My experiences that have turned me away.....
by agent86 ingoogle_ad_section_start hi everyone, i am just new to this site and thanks for a very dear friend that has encouraged me to post my story and would love to hear feedback from all you out there xx.
this is my story.
we were introduced to the religion in 1982, not soon after we were unbaptized publishers (a bit to soon for me even at that age) i really didnt miss the celebrations as much as were werent that well off and my parents worked 6 days a week to pay the bills.

Welcome Agent86! Thank you for sharing your story - that must have been hard! You went through a very traumatizing event - I'm so sorry for all the pain it caused back then and throughout your life. I'm so glad to hear that your friend has been able to help you deal with it. This religion is so messed up! Apologies from elders are hard to come by - that would be admitting they made a mistake. They have no right dealing with things they know nothing about. How scary it must have been as a child being interrogated and accused of such things. Awful. What happened in your case with the two witness rule?? I guess that only works when they want it to. It protects the real pedophiles.
I'm happy to hear that you and your family got out together!
I wish you guys all the best!

A God of love?
by MrFreeze inthey try to tell you god is love.
if that isn't the biggest load i've ever heard than i don't know what is.. god is love huh?
what would you say if i told you that there was a child that was deathly ill and the father had the cure?

Good points MrFreeze - I laughed at the idiot who at the piece of fruit part! We pay a lot for that bite!
Or, we as humans may be the manifestation of consciousness that was working at an unconscious level for millions of years. If all that exists is of God and God, then we are part of God. We need to look no further than the end of our nose to see God and know love, and all the priests and vicars are going to be out of work.
Interesting Gladiator. It would follow then that a lot of people are STILL unconscious and unable to see they are part of God and therefore, easily led and controlled. Hmmm. Outside the box for sure! Have you read The Biology of Belief? Bruce Lipton I think. Very interesting book.
