wife awakening
by diamondiiz inmy wife was reading a few bits of coc and she read most of gentile times reconsidered and she says she's not buying the dates anymore and i can tell she knows it's not the truth.
she is starting to feel depressed about it and is feeling "hollow" on the inside.
she said that you can't argue all the evidence that points to 586/7bc for jerusalem's destruction and you can't separate dates from wts dogma - she finally is getting it :) historians are making stuff up to cover up 607bc.

Ridiculous Comment By a Super JW
by mentallyfree31 ina few years back, before i had any doubts and when i was a hardcore jw, i remember a super-pioneer-jw sister was conversing with me.
i made the comment about some of my friends at work (all non-witnesses).
she stops me mid sentence and says "friends?

I always had a good non JW-friend at school and a good one in the KH. It was not a pb for me or my parents: we would eventually go for shopping, swimming etc...

Why does everyone want to 'quietly' leave? Annual departure day?
by EndofMysteries init seems there are sooo many who sense something is wrong, or not right.
everyone who just 'fades' or is dfed or no longer a jw, it's all assumed for immoral reasons or they just want to lead a 'worldly' lifestyle.
some do, don't believe in god and that's their choice.

Endofmysteries,
friends and existing ties are not the only reason why some (like me) want to leave quietly. I'm married to a JW since nearly 11 years now and I love him. Moreover we have 2 little girls (2 and 5 year old), I just want to avoid conflicts. I don't want to leave alone and that's why I try my best too show him little by little that the "truth" is not that holy.

Memorial Service at Khall - would you go (even as a DF'd exJW)?
by babygirl30 ini ask because a friend of mine (who stays in touch once in awhile) had made it clear to me about 6 mos ago that he didn't care if i was df'd or not - that he still would speak to me and check up on me.
well his parents are both disabled, and his father recently died in the house!
so he sends me a text telling his father passed - and i told him i would call him.

Your friend needs your support in this difficult time. You just said he stays in touch with you although you being DF'd and he doesn't shun you. I think you should go.

Was any of you leading a bible study when discovered the truth about the "truth"?
by Desilusionnee ini ask because i'm confronted to that and i really don't know what to do.
i always pointed out that the bible and not the book we are studying together is god's word, but now i really don't know any farther.. the 2nd problem is that we don't only study the bible she is now a friend of mine, our children are of the same age?
were some of you in the same situation?

Thanks a lot for your help.
I discovered the truth at the end of April and I'm still attending the meetings: trying to fade slowly as my husband is still convinced that it's the truth and we have 2 little girls.
The woman I study with attended the memorial and she wants to be one of the JW because she believes they are all good people. We are both from the caribbean and live in Europe. Not only the bible study connects us but also our cultural background somehow....
I'm afraid other brothers try to study with her if I stop and prevent her from having contact with me: she is the only caribbean woman I know in my area (south of Austria) and I like her much. That's why I'm so confused.Once more, thank you very much for your help.

Wanted to pass along some interesting news about some of the local KH's I found out
by StoneWall inat least 2 of the 4 closest congregations to me had lower attendance at the memorial this year.. i didn't go to the memorial this year but at my own congregation it not only went down some but by a considerable margin.. last year we had 200+ for the memorial, this year down to 157.. second congregation nearby had a drop of over 20. from approx.
i do believe we have been making tremendous inroads in my area.
so many have just stopped going.

I can confirm the lower attendance at the memorial for this year and last year in our congregation too (Austria, Europe). It seems like inactive don't come to that "special meeting" anymore and we have a few "visitors" (always the same).
I don't know if it's a world-wide trend. We have to check that! -

8 and 9 year old!!!! I didn't know one could get baptized that early!
And that's true, we're expected to take our decision as soon as we "understand", overwise we can't really "please Jehovah"...that's the point.
