Oh man, what a joke!! There were LOTS of stupid comments made by your CO as follows. I've put my thoughts in bold:

Uh......Noooooooooo.......it's boring as hell.

So is this a half-assed admission that they've screwed up their previous "understanding" of the conclusion of this system of things??? (I did NOT have - sexual relations with that woman!)

Our congregation faked (since the last CO visit) 9.9 hours in field service. The national fake average right now, he said, is 9.4 hours. "You're well above the national average." Our congregation is averaging 9 magazines placed per publisher. The national average is 8.5.

How the hell can anyone place half a magazine??????

yesterday, i typed up a flyer saying how jehovah's witnesses' protect pedophiles, and how many who have spoken out trying to protect children from wt policy have been excommunicated from the church.

i didn't want to make it too long, but i ended by saying "how would you feel if on saturday morning, a knock comes to the door and your 6 year old runs to open it.

Pedophiles May Be Knocking At Your Door

Most people only know Jehovahs Witnesses by their refusal of blood transfusions and by knocking on your door Saturday mornings with the Watchtower and Awake! magazines. What is not so well known, is that the leadership of the Jehovahs Witnesses protect pedophiles within their ranks and punish any Witness who has tried standing up for innocent children, by disfellowshipping (excommunicating) them from the religion, cutting them off from all family and friends.

This was demonstrated on the program Dateline in May 2002 and Panorama (by the BBC) when several Jehovahs Witnesses spoke openly about what happened when they went to the police to report child abuse within the congregation. In ALL cases, these Witnesses have been disfellowshipped, even though the accused were found guilty of child molestation and are in prison-----for now.

When these pedophiles get out of prison, they are welcomed back into the "fold" and are allowed to go out preaching from door to door. How do you feel about your 7 year old child answering the door on a Saturday morning when you may still be in bed, to find someone who may or may not be a pedophile standing there ready to preach religion to you?

Jehovahs Witnesses are not allowed to question the inadequacy of policies made by the leadership. They are told that by questioning these men, its the same as questioning God Himself. These men, called the Governing Body, are used to absolute obedience without question, and for any Witness to even hint that something needs to be changed to protect the children, is viewed as a "troublemaker"and could easily find themselves cut off from all family and friends if they stress their point too openly.

Most Jehovahs Witnesses are not fully aware of the severity of the problem, as they are instructed not to watch any program on TV that features the problem of pedophiles within the congregation, because, they are told, its only "disgruntled ex-Witnesses" or "apostates" trying to cause problems, or its "Satan persecuting Gods Organization". This is what theyre told. No further explanation is given.

So the next time Jehovahs Witnesses come calling at your door, you may want to ask them how, in good conscience, they can preach religion to ANYONE, when they themselves are allowing children within their own religion, to become victims of child abuse, while protecting the molesters themselves.

I went to the local shopping mall and put one (folded) flyer on each car (LOL!!!) I hope some of them were Witness cars!!!! I've done this for the last 2 nights and I'm sure I've lost 3 or 4 pounds with all that walking......I still got about 200 left, so I'll be doing some more today!!!

While most "worldly" people don't give a damn what goes on within the confines of the BORG-anization, the DO give a damn about child molestors, especially given the recent spat of abductions of so many children right from their own homes. As everyone knows JWs COME TO YOUR DOOR, I think alot of people's irritation at Witnesses could turn to out and out hostility if they realize that pedophiles are actually knocking on their front doors.

Yep, it's alot of walking and folding and paper cuts, but I would like to encourage anyone and everyone who can do this at your local shopping mall or movie theatre - ANYWHERE where there's alot of parked cars, to do this. If all these Witnesses keep getting questioned about the "pedophile problem", it'll put a nice little damper in how many W&A they place that month and hopefully, it'll have a dominos effect........

Ghosts and Spooky things

Well, I've never had an experience with the supernatural, but I would still caution anyone who's considering trying out the Ouija Board. Even though alot have left the Borg, I firmly believe that Satan, demons or ghosts or whatever you wanna call them, are real. Yes, we were all instilled with a morbid fear of the demons, but I've seen enough documentaries on TV interviewing many people who are not JWs, and some of them have had really bad experiences with these entities.

The Exorcist is loosly based on a true story and I guess when they were making the movie, wierd shit started happening all the time: fires starting out of nowhere, cast or crew were thrown around by unseen forces. While of course this could be made-up stuff to promote the movie, I think it's worth noting that Linda Blair was in therapy for years after she made that movie.

So please use caution. I think people can get themselves into trouble because of dabbling in stuff that maybe as humans, we shouldn't be.

Just my 2 cents.........

watchtower 1965, page 429 says, "instead of opposing a change in scriptural understanding, organizational procedure or organizational structure,it is better to adjust oneself to it, remembering that, whatever change is made by god's organization, the change is for the good of those in it.

to resist this advancement is to resist jehovah's spirit that operates on the organization, causing it to advance.......although a person may not at first appreciate the need for a change, as time passes he will begin to see how it benefits the organization.

".........so there you have it, whether you think something is right or wrong is not the point; the point is you must do as you are told, because benefitting the organization is all that's important.

Why on earth would you want him to go to college? Don't you know that Armageddon is right around the corner?? He should be content to push a broom, or clean windows for a living.............

Seriously though, don't push him into going right now if he doesn't want to. But you may just want to ask if there was something that happened in school that made him feel this way. God knows I hated school with a passion but after a number of years, I'm going back........

just a quickie, as far as the date - 1975 - is concerned, was there ever a printed document through the wts that stated that this year would be the absolute final date for the big a ?.

or was it just rumours amongst the brothers ?.

There was only one brother in our Hall before '75 who stated publically that he did not think The End was coming in '75 because the BIBLE (gasp!) said it would come "as a thief in the night", when no one was expecting it. If everyone was expecting it in 75, then the bible would be wrong.

Needless to say, he was virtually shunned for his "independent thinking" both before AND after 1975. Before, he obviously was "lacking in faith", and after the fiasco, he obviously had been "running ahead of the Organization" with his "independent thinking".

While it was never stated 100% that The End WAS coming in the Fall of '75, there was a pretty damn good indication from the GB (who supposedly have a direct telephone link to God) that it would. One of the best examples of that was in the May 1974 (I think) Kingdom Ministry where it stated "....reports are coming in that brothers are selling their homes and businesses to finish out the remaining months of this System of Things in the full-time ministry!" or something like that. The very fact that they thought this was such a wonderful thing and provided NO caution to the brothers whatsoever, shows clearly that they were encouraging the idea.......it wasn't a few Witnesses who dreamed this crap up, it came from the top.

ok---a bit of background first.

there is this older lady that has been in my parents congregation ever since we moved to fl (14 yrs ago).

she was the sweetest, funniest, quirkiest woman ever.

Spice I would definitely go. Even if we don't agree with the Borganization, to me it's simply a way of paying respect to someone you liked. A few years ago, I went to a Catholic funeral for a friend that had died. Man, it was depressing! But I went simply out of respect for the deceased. You have to make the final choice of course, but if you don't go, you may regret it down the line.

Just my two cents worth......
