The shunning begins

check out my mother in laws new thinking...already the jws have firmly replaced her ability to think for herself:.

"dear d"i just got your note today, since i was out of commission for a week or more.i wasn't "waiting to tell you," nor was i going to" jump back into shunning d." i just didn't think this was going to be happy news, and judging from your choice of words in this note, i was right!

i have been going to meetings for a couple of months and have expressed a desire to be reinstated.

Don't let her fool you with the holier-than-thou-this-is-the-truth crap......the real reason she's going back is noted above. There are many many sisters who cannot handle being on their own and will do anything to keep a man in their lives even if it means becoming a dub again when they know full well it's not the truth.

No doubt when she does get re-instated, that JWs will hold this up as an example of "whom Jehovah loves, he disciplines".

I'M GETTIN' NERVOUS!

my surgery (hysterectomy) is scheduled for this friday and i'm getting really nervous.........nervous that the cancer may have spread, nervous about the pain, nervous about what i'm going to go through mentally, physically and emotionally afterwards (i guess i'll be going through the change of life real quick).

i've done pretty good so far: am trying to keep positive, eating right, exercising (i've lost 15 lbs!

), meditating, and i'm going on tuesday to someone who does reiki (i think that's how you spell it).

Ye of Little Faith

i am pained by the lack of faith by people on the board recently both in god and in general.. it is obvious that unbelievers in god would have such lack of faith.

but it is not confined to them alone but to others that though believers in god have little trust and confidence in him.. these of little faith constantly cry for proof and evidence both of god existence or in the case of bill bowens letter to the wts proof of govering body members guilt as child molesters.

they haven't the ability to believe or have faith without physical evidence.. one of my main mentors is tv minister fred price which i watch every sunday morning.

This debate has gone on from the beginning of time: some people believe in God, some don't. You can't really "prove" there's a God, unless He actually opened up the heavens and spoke to us direct. It takes faith. Same thing with athiests. You can't "prove" there isn't a god. It takes faith.

Everyone has to find there own way. Although I do find it interesting that surveys generally show that people who attend church and believe in God, tend to live longer and be happier people. Is it all in the mind? Who knows. I for one, do believe in God, but not the way the Society explains him. God's not quite as unforgiving as them.

things are moving so fast and i had to repost the following.

it fell to page six over night and i was hoping someone had ideas on how she can get out of her study without probs.. repost from last night:.

Get your wife to tell the sister she's studying with that she's "attracted" to her......THAT outta end the study nice and quick!

Seriously though, even though your wife was baptized 10 years ago, she managed to "fall away" once, so maybe she should just start cancelling her bible studies one week after another, or tell her just to not show up. Eventually, the sister that she studies with will get pissed off enough that she won't bother calling any more. Trust me, it works.

thoughts about mass death

i've been doing a bit of self-questioning lately about moral issues.

one of the issues i've pondered is my reaction to the september 11th attacks.

i was feeling quite bloodthirsty.

Well I wouldn't want to see the GB killed like that. To me, that would make martyrs out of them...........I would much prefer to see them publically humiliated the way they are now.

As for terrorism, unfortunately there's going to be innocent civilians lost. Although I find it hard to sympathize with many of these Islamic populations after remembering how they were dancing and cheering in the streets after the towers fell.

And I think Bush is doing the right thing by wanting to remove Saddam Hussein. Who knows what that wacko has got in mind........and if Bush delays and Saddam releases biological warfare on us over here, everyone would be whining "why didn't you do something about him sooner?!"

More Talk About SEX, Baby!

i was listening today to the jimmy young show on radio 2. apart from the fact that jimmy young wasn't present, the show followed it's usual pattern of righteous indignation against teenagers, asylum seekers, unmarried young mothers and the unemployed.. todays topic was sex education.. how old should children be before they know about sex?

or should i say, be told all about sex?.

i could't believe what i was hearing.

Sex education should definitely be taught in school, because there's just too many parents who don't teach their kids ANYTHING about the facts of life.

Sex was not acknowledged in my family when we were growing up and it still isn't (maybe that's why I'm still single, eh?). I was so totally dumb about sex I had not a clue as to what it was all about. I was 19 before I found out was oral sex meant. I was so dumb I thought it meant talking dirty!!!

i have a quick question.... what will be the role of the jw duing the great tribulation (after the un starts to wipe out all religion on earth) ?

i was talking to a jw and he said the jws will do something no one expects!

...uh hu spooky spooky...does any one know what he was talking about?.

I think when the Big A come, they'll do one of the following:

1. Count Armageddon as time on their field service report;

2. See if they can get a big discount to Heavenly Jerusalem and/or Tartarus

3. Fight amongst each other as to who is the greatest among them;

4. Go for coffee break

5. Gossip.......no wait! Everyone would expect that!

6. Wonder why they see the Kingdom Hall being destroyed;

7. Wonder why "Jeevus" isn't saving them;

8. Wonder why the Governing Body isn't saving them;

9. Wonder why the Governing Body members are keeling over after being struck by lightening;

10. Wonder why Superman isn't saving them.

1) If a parent believes his/her child was molested by a fellow JW, what is a reasonable course of action he/she might take to speak to other JW parents in the congregation about the molestor?

Speak to others? Forget it. If I had kids and a fellow "christian" molested them, justice would be served Clint Eastwood style.....the molester would not be getting a second chance to do that to anyone else ever again.

2) If a baptized person who is guilty of molesting a child in the past has paid his debt to society and wishes to participate as a JW, and it is right to inform the entire congregation of this person's history
