Questions for JWs

dear jw,.

i have some questions.

as i understand it, if armageddon came tomorrow, those that never heard the truth, in such places as india or china would either live through armageddon or die and be resurrected.

either the aug 1 or 15 wt states that the end is being held up to give SOME OF YOU and it ref active jw the time to get thier act together- you know reg meeting attendance, out in service and commenting at all the meeting and then the end will come\

when i showed it to my wife she just fell out- her we go again the end is being held up due to the faithful jw not getting thier act together- i will look up the exact quote when i get home

but it reminds me of freddy franz comment about 1975

due to the jw community wanting it to come so bad - they made jah change his mind

blame the poor rank and file for wanting somethng that the wt promised would be here long ago.

just a good side point- when i first came to the net someone had did a search on how many times the wt has used the words

SOON - NEAR - SHORTLY- AROUND THE CORNER- IN THE CORNER- NEAR THE CORNER- AT THE CORNER, ETC SMILE

and the point they made was that by using such phrases so often and for so long they had literally taken all the MEANING OUT OF THEM

i have been searching the net for some excellent sites on the masons.

this past weekend we went down to nc for a wedding and my wife and i broke the news to our nonjw family that we were no longer involved with jw.

i could not believe the open arm welcome my uncle and aunt were almost in tears- they told us we have seen you come home each yr from the main office in ny and then you got married and you would come home and we wanted to say something about the jw but you seemed to be so well respected by the local jw - whenever we would tell folks that our newphew was up in ny- the jw would get all excited- they told us they thought it was so sad for i only made $90 a month.

I would like to thank everyone for thier insightful points on the masons

some feel they are great - while others feel they are Satan's right hand men in the flesh

well i have no intentions of joining them , just wanted to be able to speak about them in a more informed manner

on a personal note-- i start to laugh the minute that anyone of any group starts out by saying "There are somethings i can't tell you till you join and work your way up thur the ranks"

or "We got some "Secrets" that we don't tell anyone"
now i have no problem with folks having secrets- i mean Kentucky Fried chicken ain't giving away the Secrets to the chicken

but when you have a group that claims to have some special INSIDER KNOWLEDGE that is when my BS alarm goes off-

i just love that getting to a "Higher Level" jargon or "Deeper Understanding" "Hidden Secrets" from most of mortal man, but we have it- the only real secret in life is learning "How to Fart and no one smells it"

but all the info has been just what i needed

as i look at things i find t so sad that man constantly needs to make himself feel SPECIAL just to be kind and do good deeds to others

while i used to have an account that involved the Shriners here in Wash dc- it was amazing all the GOOD STUFF they are involved in to help folks--- and like them there are many other org involved in helping folks out

why it is that instead of just doing good for folks- they also have to include all KINDS OF GOOFY STUFF, Funky Outfits, Wild hats. crazy A$$ ritual instead of just helping out the poor oldlady

i guess as humans we all want to feel that we or our little group is special and unique, one of a kind, etc almost "GANG" like

Don't rely on Money for Retirement - W 8/15/01

the three articles in the watchtower of 8/15/01 on the life of abraham take a real stretch of a biblical story in order to impose watchtower rules.

on page 27, paragraph 8 the watchtower tries to make that point that many jws inflict themselves with many trials because they strive for material riches.

that may be true but equally many face trials just trying to make a living or are trying to cope with retirement on a very limited income.

When it comes to money i recall JR Brown giving a talk up in Harlem and he had this Line in his talk that he would use and everyone would fall out laughing- yet us dumb blacks didn't get it-

he use to say "Money can't buy happiness, but it can ease the Pain"

well he should know he hob knobs around the world with Larry Gramham of Gramham Central Station Fame and drives a "Q45"

when he got this car alot of the bethelites went off about "How it must look" you see a top of line Q45 like he drives will set you back around $45-$50,000 - now how in the Hell can a guy making $90.00 a month afford a car like that

so don't tell me there ain't money in religion

in the black jw community the CO and DO get HOOKED UP- and it is by some of the Pooriest jw - when i was in Harlem - The Black Capitol of America=- smile the little old poor sisters living in the Projects would dig deep into their bosom and bring out thier last little roll of money and slap his wife's hand with big bucks

i recall just the elder body alone would give him $500- they had a thing where they would pass a hat among the elders.

About a year before i stepped aside in 87 i was in charge of contributions for the CA- we were in the back room counting money- i went over to the Assembly Overseer office and there were about 13-15 elders and they were taking up a Private collection for John Williams a black bro from Guyana- a super speaker- who actuall got the shaft while i was at bethel- he used to work in the Treasures office the right hand man to Grant Suiter and then all of a suddden he got the shaft down to "Shipping" in the 360 Furman building

but on the outside of Bethel he was still one of the most sought after black bethel speakers at the Big House, but the kind of black speakers was JR Brown- when i was handling the speakers for my hall in NY i asked JR about giving a talk- he was known among the black brothers a the Society's version of "Louis Farakann" he has got to be the most powerful speaker black or white at bethel in my view and the view of many black bethelites- you would not go to sleep-

all the bethelites in his Hall and even some of the local elders when they came to your hall to give a talk SOUNDED AND HAD THE MANNERISM OF JR.
so some of those guys have money out the Ying Yang

some of you may recall this guy named Harley Miller - his exp is in the wt - a PETTY OFFICIER IN THE NAVY

anyway one day the housekeeper put his mail in our room by accident and my many had just recieved like 3 or 4 statements from at that time EF HUtton, Bear Sterns and Prudential and someother brokerage house

i could tell what it was cause my roomate and i held it up to the light- and i thought to myself THIS BRO GOT INVESTMENTS LIVING HERE AT BETHEL I WAS A DUMBA$$ i should have realized something right then and there but i didn't SHAME ON ME

Ex-JW atheists

i know there are lots of atheists on the board, so i'm curious what attracted you to becoming a jw in the beginning.

personally, i feel a bond with all ex-jws (and to those of you doubting) since we have gone through the same things.

so my question is not being sarastic, but i'm curious as to why you are where you are.

this was the key for me- THE TEST is a real problem for me for it makes "GOD" the reason for all the problems

we all know that in most cultures ANYONE who is duly authorized to stop something is often viewed as sharing responsiblity

case in point

a your store catches on fire- the firemen and ladder truck are across the street at Burger King for lunch- they do nothing

a man holds up up your store- cops arcross the street at 7-11 they do nothing haven't finished their coffee yet

father in the park with 4yr old daughter reading the paper 42 yr old man grabs little girl , pulls down her panties and begins to insert his penis in her- father does nothing wants to finish the sports section first

and the list goes on and on

same with "GOd" with all his foreknowledge he could see 5000yrs down the road at the amount of suffering his kids would go through because of 2 folks and he had no problem with it - had to finish his Lipton Tea

so the concept of a Loving God is really a contridiction of statement

but i understand why folks believe- it provides them with the mental cructch they need to get thru each day and for that i would never want or try to take that away from them

but for me well i perfer to walk on my own power

since dunsscot claims he's leaving this board, and in answer to my specific request for a committment to answer all replies i might give to his latest replies to my previous dissections of his nonsense he said that he would not, i won't be giving a detailed reply to him.. however, dunsscot's posts contain a number of statements that prove how easily the watchtower society fools the jw community by lying to it, either outright or in so many words.. in this post we will examine a fiction that the society has managed to get poor people like dunsscot to believe with respect to c. t. russell, namely, that russell never claimed that he was "the faithful and wise servant" of matthew 24:45. the simple truth is that russell did indeed believe it.

the fact that he did was printed in the watch tower, and the society itself taught it until about 1927.. let's first look at the context of dunsscot's denial of this important bible student teaching.

hey when i showed the thread to some NONJW they said the same thing

i have showed these folks writings of the wt from the good old days and they find the early beliefs to be wacked

so when they see this "Educated guy", "Well Read guy" up here supporting some of the
Goffiest material ever written - they just find it so amazing

for loyal jw they can stay if they want to

but you can't show a nonjw who hasn't bought into the FDS WE SPEAK FOR GOD STUFF who would accept the wt org-

i have found very few persons who are nonjw who after looking at just a few of the old wt quotes still feel that the jw have have a clear understanding of the bible

and with guys like this - it becomes all the more easier
