i have recently seen one thread about the differences between the witnesses and those other religions.
so i will explain some of my earlier experiences as a catholic and contrast them to the witness experience.. my family was active as a catholic when i was about 6 or so.
we had to salute the flag, and we got to play with other children and go on class trips that also made major markers in life.

The Apostolic succesion never ended for the Eastern Part of the Roman Empire(wrongly called Byzantine) Unfortunately the West Part lost this succesion with the schisma.Even now the Emplem of Romania(Byzantine)is the 2 headed Eagle,symbol of the East and West of the Roman Empire, and it is kept by the Church ever since as simple when the East will be United with the West again.
The real reason of this schisma was a political game from the Franks that they decided to devide the East from the West part of the Roman Empire.

Catholics(Papal Church): Left the Church with the schisma confirmed around 1080A.D. As a result of this they lost the Apostolic succesion of the Church. Due to fact that Greek and Latin language have differences the Papal Church fell into serious misentepretations of the Bible.
1.They insert the teaching of a burning hell and purgatory.
2. The filioque - Holy Spirit is also coming from the Son and the Father
3.The wrong intepretation of Mother Mother- worshiping her like God
4. Pope is infallible
This are the basic, but there are many others.
Jehovahs Witnesse: Another sect of the thousand of Protestand sects that they came out from Papal Church...As a result of their Bible ignorance and intepretation they became a dooms day cult, with serious Bible errors...
My question to the Protestants is very simple:
1.WHO gave to you the Bible that you are claiming to follow?
2.CAN you indicate a Bible verse that is telling us that ONLY the Bible is the Basis of the Christian faith?
3.Did the Church has ever apostatized from the original teaching of Christ and the Apostles?
Indeed tough questions... ignorance indeed is leading to a confusion. That is why we find so many Protestand sects.
The Christian Church(Holy Catholic Apostolic Church - Orthodox) is there for 2000 years. It faced persecutions and sects and schisma.It managed to survive of 400 years of Othomanic occupation and persecution. The Bible it came out from the Church and trough the Church is given to the Christians. There are many other Apostolic Letters that they are not included in the Biblical Cannon, but it does not make them wrong. There are letters from the early succesors of the Apostles that indeed clearly showing us the Church NEVER left the true teachings. These teaching are preserved through writting documents and tradition.
The Early Church fathers gathered this information that was scattered through the Roman Empire and set the Biblical Canon and the Christian faith, and this faith is kept for the last 2000 years...so if you want to accept the Bible you have to accept those who SET the Bible...
Born in a Protestand sect(J.W'S) end stayed there until 33 indeed those questions above I seeked to find an answer. I couldn't believe that in the end I would become Orthodox because I was raized with the Protestand mentallity that there has been an apostasy of the Church. I agree most of the comments in this subject. Indeed, people DON'T really care about JW's. People have their life, their daily problems, the struggle to survive in this modern world, how to earn their daily bread, their families.
When I left JW's 6 years ago I realize that, and indeed most of the people don't have a CLUE what Jw's believe. I'm living in country were the ratious of JW's is 1 to 360. Indeed NO GOOD NEWS are preached and people are in completely darkness regarding the "kindom message". And I'm supposed to leave in a European country with 28,000 JW's. Imagine what is happening in the 3rd world, or India and China that they represent the 1/4 of the population of the earth!!!
JW's are not hated. I have seen it , and most people think they are a strange "religion".The only reason that it might be disturbance to the people is in the blood issue, and when a child needs blood to survive. And indeed it is a good reason for someone to become upset. The "Jw's logic" it is insanity for the ordinary human people. How come God wants your child to die?

It is hard to go back in the Watchtower. Specially when you realize the fraud that is behind in this American cult.
I can't tell regarding other countries, but in my country those who left WT they never went back.
When I was facing the delemma between my Christian freedom and keeping the family together when I had to appear over a judical commitee for apostasy, the decision was hard and the price very high, and I had no doubts what I would choose.
I knew that even if I "forget"my apostatic ideas, and compromise , things whould have been worsed. First I had to teach my children WT's "truth" and then show that I believe in FDS and their crap theology. Elders whould have visit me often to be sure that I have "clean"my mind regarding apostate teachings. My own wife would act as a spy for the WT and the elders, since she was the one who turned me in for apostasy!!! So I knew I have to go way. Running way from your problems is not a solution, but in this case you have no other way but leave.
Going back there it would be a living hell...

I agree with that statement. They won't leave. They have their friends, relatives, their social gatherings, their Mother Org to tell them what to do in every single step of their lifes. When I had to leave my house and family due to my disfellowship, I realize that, they are only care about their louzy Org. The last 6 years(that I went to the fading process) I was having a very tense marriage. Fightings with my wife because I wasn't going to the meetings etc etc. My oldest daughter treated me like sh*t. I was staying in my house and I was treated very badly. The tence grew bigger when my wife turned me to the elders for apostasy!!! I was disfellowshiped last year. Then my wife every week she was having party's at home, and I had to stay out late due to the Watchtower's policy.I was not allowed to talk to my younger kids 3 and 5 regarding my new Christian faith. The house was like occupied by the WT in every single way.I was feeling like I was under occupation of a Nazi state!!! I left my house because of this bad situation, and due to the fact that I didn't my 2 small kids to be raized in an inviroment of shoutings and hatred.
I tried all this years to show to my wife the reasons why I stoped believing in the WT. She blindly refused to see the FACTS. I was accused of being proud!!! The tip of the iceberg was when my first daughter got married and my name was not even in the invitation card.She refused me being her father...
This is the 'love' of 'God's "people". I have seen their hate in every aspect of my life. Now I'm trying to start from the begginig a new life at my early 40's ...The thing that kills me is that my 2 small kids have to go through the same hell that I have been. Due to the financial problems caused by the WT, all this years, I'm working late, to get some more money, and also at weekends. So there is no free time for me. When you have no education in this world life is hard...and WT was always against education. The end was so closed that we didn't need any!!!
Probably I will leave my country and try to make a new start some place else. JW's are pathetic people that they love ONLY themselves...

I have never been to spanish congos, so I can tell. But I do know that in Greek congos are similar with the rest congos of the JW's in Europe. It is all based in cult mentality, and the uniformity that the WT cult has on their followers.

Indeed they are the worst fires for the past 150 years, regarding victims. Until today, that the fires are still going strong in many places at Pelloponysos, we have nearly 70 people reported to died. One woman and her four children were found in their car burned...and there are many people missing.
This is a real tragedy. No one believes that there are people to do that crime. Half of the country is on fire. It is something beyond human imagination. The sun doesn't shine from the flames. The places that they are burned the land is not expensive at all to buy it. It is something beyond than those land developers that suppose they burn the land.
Everyone talks about a terror attack. Similar it happened to Bulgaria this summer. It was burned in the same way. Imagine a fire line of 60klm. It was something that no one can imagine it could happened. And the same way Spain was burned 2 years ago and Portugal. But what is happening in Greece is beyond human imagination. Even they were false calls for fires in other places, to destruct the work of the firemen.
What mind goes to destroyed the World Wide Herritance of the Olympia. At Olympia is were we give the Olympic Flame to the World. It was there and survived from earthquakes, conquerors, natural elements, for 2700 years!!! What sick mind goes to destroy a monument like that? A monument that belongs to the World, like Akropolis and Parthenon.
