Hi, that book review is by Michael Berenbaum, whom I mentioned earlier. As for figures, I would go with the latest scholarly research rather than just by what the WTS says, although the figure I mentioned before (203 shot or beheaded) came from WTS, via another book. Although King et al may have just lifted their figures from WTS publications, so in that case I would probably go to the latest work from Penton, who is a fine historian!

can anyone direct me or provide the information of how many jw's actually were sent to and died in the nazi concentration camps.
i believe that the jw's claimed so many numbers, but the actual figures were lower.

the presiding overseer gave a talk on the society's changed view of getting a college education.. he used the scripture which admonishes the reader to "acquire a heart of wisdom" and applied it to getting a 4 year college education for the sake of being able to support oneself at double the rate of pay with one's degree upon graduation.
this of course is only for the purpose of being able to then pioneer, only having to work a few days a week, thereby having the time for the field ministry.. such an annoying change - finally!

Just wanted to add that I left school in 1994, when it was kind-of hinted at that uni might be okay if you were looking to pioneer. But I was a very logical teenager and thought that if Armageddon was around the corner, why would I waste 4 years at school? So I went to secretarial college for a year and I was even looked down on for that! I used to be so jealous of the few girls who went to uni for 3 years to get a teaching degree but I thought they weren't very spiritual!!
