I'm shocked!! I think I found the REAL reason for no voting, for tons of preaching and no public charity!! The IRS and taxes!

the wt controls every part of it's members lives.

now if they really allowed voting, then obviously since they have the only channel to god, they would be expected to provide guidance as to who is the best candidate and best party, etc.

well, if you look in the irs booklet for tax exempt organizations, including religions and churches over here, go to page 5, "jeopordizing tax exempt status".

very good point..many really worthwhile charities need every penny they can get. these rich religious scams do very nicely without bilking the treasury out of tax reversals.

so my situation is changing and i am trying to figure out the best way for me to handle this.

i am an unbaptized publisher married to a dub who was inactive when we met and when we married and during the course of our marriage, and just went back active a year and a half ago.

he is a full believing dub.

this is a perfect example of why the cult is against marrying out of the--"truth" ( lies )

a man in your husbands situation is of little value to the cult. he cant very well be given any "privileges" if he has---what used to be called---an "opposed " wife.

he still has to provide for you--by the cults rules. and give you your wifely "dues" so really--all he can do is attend meetings. till he goes inactive again. isnt that the result you want ?

i remember as kids we would say " liar, liar your pants are on fire" and they wern't were they.

so that in itself was a lie.. but is lying always so bad?

i mean for example at an art class as a kid when i had to commented someones work, rather than be nasty, at a picture which was terrible and traced as well !

well, of course nothing else would be expected, but it passes me off.. for example, they show this short video that shows a child dying, shows her father crying as he visits her grave...and then she is reunited with her family in "the new system" and then it shows a handicapped girl who is sad she can't ice skate with friends...fast forward to tns, she can skate!!!

then an elderly couple is shown happily young again.... .

and of course the end is "so close!

i am not talking about posters here on this board ( otherwise i wouldn't be here would i) but in general.. si i am talking those ex j.ws in my community and we just dont get on.

well ok its a bit of an exaggeration to say i don't get on with them, we just dont associate.

this botherd me at first as i thought we would have much in common, but it wasn't so, and it's just the way it is.

ive been totally out of the cult for more than 30 years now. in that time--ive come across a surprising number of ex-dubs. i certainly never knew them when i was in it...and i have moved address a lot.

usually its something thats said in conversation that gives a clue. i think there must be many more e'x's who are ashamed or embarrassed about their past involvement--and dont want to reveal anything.

it should be born in mind why some adults are attracted to the cult in the first place---and when they leave or get kicked out---they are still the same person as before.

it also interests me how many were on this site back at the beginning. most have long moved on--and no longer post. this site seems to operate like a revolving door--look how many new posters over the last couple of years.

How We Come Across On The Board

we converse, discuss, argue, laugh, agree, question, share our lives..... quite often, you kind of get to know what a person is like.

some people, we tend to gravitate to and others, we shy away from.. how do you think you come across to other people?

i'm nothing like this in real life.

i have no friends. drunks and druggies avoid me. i pull legs off spiders. i'm famous for my meanness. a total mysoginist. i'm arrogant and totally self-centered.

i would make an excellent elder----if only i could find a congregation that could afford me.

i've been given permission to post news of our friend.. kate hasn't been very well.

not well at all.

i think much of it has been a delayed reaction to her df'ing, the general fallout when leaving the wtbs and family issues.. i just wanted to give you guys the heads up and give you a chance to show how much we care about her.. thanks for listening..

Thoughts of summer and ummmmm

maybe i still have the j.w mentality, but i am seriouse....why on hot summer days do the youngsters wear such gloomy colors?

it makes little sence,.. o.k maybe they are rebelling, and there hearts are in the right place, but why can't they rebel in cheerful bright orage tea-shirts, especially during the summer months.

but there you go ugggg beautiful girls in such dark and gloomy colors ...its summer girls make an old man feel glad.. .
