  Why is 'women bashing' allowed on this board?

  there is a poster on this board with the moniker 'd8ta' that has called a female poster a 'bitch' and another female poster a 'whore' and yet you men let him get away with it.

  this is disgusting!

  Perhaps you could provide a link to the threads in which D8TA was so horrible to the women of this board? (There is little doubt in my mind that any such comments he made were in jest...and probably fully understood as such by the persons to whom they were directed. However, if you can prove me wrong, I will apologize.)

  is it just me, or is alchohol consumption at parties and vacations virtually an unwrittten rule of jw-culture?.

  when i was in, i did not drink, and i still don't.

  i often felt almost ostracized for this by my jw associates.

  Hey Comforter - gotta say I agree with you. I'm sure some people here will disagree but, five or six beers over the course of a whole afternoon is nothing to be concerned about for me or for many of the people I know. I'm certainly not drunk after drinking 5 beer in five hours or so. Mind you, I wouldn't advocate driving at the end of such an afternoon.

  SUICIDE IN KH PARKING LOT

  last saturday, a former ministerial servant and pioneer committed suicide in the woodinville washington kingdom hall parking lot.

  he was disfellowshipped several years ago, and according to the old sister that related the story to me today, he was depressed because no one would talk to him.

  i don't know how i kept calm when she explained to me that "we couldn't talk to him...he was disfellowshipped.".

  This makes me so sad Sabine. And so ANGRY! Such cruelty. If the Governing Body had any compassion left inside them they would write article upon article about how family members should NEVER cut one another off. But, they are completely devoid of decency. They themselves are the ones the bible warned about when it writes of those having no NATURAL affection. They'd much rather worship their blood-thirsty Jehovah than imitate Christ. YECCCCCHHHH! Bloodguilty yet again.

  I remember being in my early teens when we studied the Revelation book at the book study. I was still fully indoctrinated then, but even at that point I thought...the seven trumpet blasts refer to the seven announcements at the Cedar Point Ohio convention??!!! What the F$*k!!??

  This just made me think of another way in which the Tower abuses children. Not only are children often seen as an inconvenience, they are often seen as a display of selfishness on the parents' part. Parents are made to feel guilty for having children, as they should be spending these "last days" in preaching the good news. The Tower talks a good talk about family life, but in reality it hates children. So much for 'suffer these little ones to come unto me', huh?
