So Yeru, you wouldn't oppose the argument as long as it stipulated one-on-one marriage of non-related homosapiens?

Abaddon - don't get enough time to read and respond to everything here very often but I just wanted to say...
Cool! South of France would be fantastic, I'm sure. Sounds a bit like the trip my SO and I took to the Costa del Sol of Spain (sans the nudity, unfortunately...he's a bit of a prude :). Fabulous food, sun, wine....lots of lovely Brits there too...
mmmmmm...."cheap" wine....we drank Campo Viejo Gran Reserva there every day...less than $6 Canadian per bottle. Here it costs around $40 a bottle. I want to go back to Spain!! Travel bug is scratching hard!
And now, back to your regularly scheduled Creation Vs. Evolution debate....

I did something ...really ...really ...bad
by seven006 inas many of you know there has been little friction on the board lately do to some recent deletions and exodus to another board.
in my deep sympathy and feeling of total unconcern about these events i took it upon myself to do something about it.
i planed my strategy using maps, schematics, long ropes, a 12 year old bottle of single malt scotch and about three minutes of planing.

I had the opportunity to do something really... really ...bad....and I didn't. DAGnabbit! Dave, why did you put these ideas in my head?!
I was AT Scully's house. I was AT her computer. She left me alone. She was signed in here as Scully. Oh the things I could have done!! Must be that pesky conscience of mine. I didn't even read the mod forum stuff....geez! I'm such a goodie-two-shoes. :(
I'll have to be extra naughty in chat to make up for such lost opportunity....

Politics is taking over again
by Simon ini think it's getting a bit much.. please remember that while we dont mind some discussion of current affairs, we are not intending to be a political discussion forum.. i'm getting especially tired seeing some people making insulting and dismissive remarks and just posting dogma and propaganda.
worse still, it seems some people are *only* interested in posting on political threads and nothing else.
let me make it clear - that is not why we're here and if that is the only reason that you are here you will find the number of posts you have will be limited.. this of course goes for both sides.
-
Kaethra
OMG! You're not seriously suggesting that the political threads be subdued, are you people!? There are plenty of other topics here for those who do not want to involve themselves in politics, but I for one, though I may not comment often, learn a great deal from the political threads. As someone in this thread has already mentioned, we JWs were prohibited from politics and all such discussions for so long...it seems completely natural and even necessary for a thriving political content to be part of an xjw board!

Yay! I found the thread!
It was a fun dinner...though I'm pretty shy in large groups...geez, you guys should see me in a smaller crowd. I'd be chatting you into oblivion. Har!
Acsot. What a lovely lady she is. All of you Canucks on the board, (and all others, of course!) would be lucky to meet her.
SaintSatan made us all laugh with his jumping jacks in the window of the restaurant.
JH, who seems a bit shy like me...but very nice...and he has a lovely French accent!
SisterLiz and her sister and mom seem like my kinda people...full of fun and life.
Guest77 and his wife were great. I was so happy to see someone else drinking! (Hey, I'm a Maritimer, afterall.) :)
Lapuce, Lapuce...didn't get to talk much to Lapuce, malheureusement (sp?)....but I did find out what lapuce means from, of course,
The Fabulous Scully!! Who let me stay with her and her lovely human and fur family...(belly rubs and ear scratches to P & D). Scully is an awesome tourguide, for anyone who wants to know.
I would love to meet up with you guys again someday. It was so nice to commiserate on our shared, strange history.
Hugs all,
Kaethra

Do Ex-JW men really understand women?
by Mindchild inhey guys, .
in light of our past shared watchtower delusions, especially relating to understanding women, i thought it would be interesting to see how well everyone scores compared to your real world counterparts in understanding women.. you can take the sexual aptitude test here: http://www.menshealth.com/cda/quizleadin/1,6927,s1-2-0-0-427,00.html.
no cheating now!

I only got 6 out of 12 right, and I AM a woman. Go figure.
On another note, Happy B-day Mindchild!

HAVE YOU WRITTEN A WILL?
by Dansk ini ask this because recently physio and i decided to leave everything to our two boys - which meant cutting out our girls completely.. why?
well, we realised that if we both died (e.g.
car accident) all four children would be entitled to our estate.
-
Kaethra
I could never treat my children unfairly...if I had any that is. :) I don't know your whole story Dask, but cutting your daughters out of your will just seems really mean. They're your daughters, for bob's sake! Who cares what they do with your money after you're gone? If there is even a slight chance that they might see "the light" at some point in the future, just imagine the resentment they will have towards their brothers. Why add that encumberance to a possible reconciliation?

Is the Koran an Inspired Book?
by Happythoughts infrom what i gather--in my opinion--here i go again the book is very negative; it's obsessed with the punishment in the hereafter for the "unbelievers" (an oft cited word in the book) and speaks of them being : chastised in the fire.
" i lost count of the number of times this phrase is used.
the book does not present a loving god--but a vindictive harsh one, more concerned with punishment than life and forgiveness.

Happythoughts,
Glad to know you're only seeking truth. I thought for a moment that you just wanted to play the "My Sky-Daddy Can Beat Up Your Sky-Daddy" game. I stand corrected.
