athiest this is for you!
by unstopableravens ini have to give props to most athiest on jwn, for one thing, you guys dont run away, i have been having discussions on youtube with jw and it is so frustrating.
what makes it frustrating is unlike me and athiest ,the jw and myself both claim the same thing that the bible is gods word, almost everytime i get into a discussion with one they make a claim i show them bible verse and they have no answer, so they attack me other than the point i bring up, than they say om under satan control, all for just using the bible.
than they say not to contact them anymore.

Context gentlemen,
The article pointed out the hypocracy ( and arrogance) of that particular comment by Dawkins ( that most christians don't even know the name of the first chapter/book in the NT - Gospel of Matthew, though some world argue that it should be Mark- and that Dawkins himslef didn't know the name of the fist chapter od the Darwinist "bible" The Origin of Species when he said he did).
Like Cofty said, old news. It hasn't made a dent in anything substantive since that time. But by all means add it to your score.
And some additional context. Unlike Dawkins, there are millions of Christians who stake their life on the Bible and yet, (underscore) yet, they could be hardly bothered to know the books of the Bible and it's content.

Your earliest doubt?
by Apognophos inthis might be an unfair question for those who have been out of the organization for decades, but i'm wondering if any of you remember your earliest doubt -- maybe something odd that occurred to you as a kid (if you were a jw then).
please try to limit to two doubts at the most :-).
i think my first "doubt" was simply realizing that at the time of the flood, every animal that wasn't in the ark died (well, besides the fish, supposedly).

Do People Believe We Are Condemned B/c of Adam and Eve?
by Band on the Run ini find the notion that we inheirited sin through adam and eve to be a quaint, silly notion.
if you believe in the power of god, why would god create such a flawed creation?
few people believe the stories in genesis.

I'd hate to think that based on my actions as a parent*, that my future lineage would suffer unfathomable suffering because I was a rebel at ONE point in time.
*Disclaimer: Not a real parent in the real world in any real sense.

Saw it here in downtown Vancouver, Canada at the entrance to one of the Skytrain stations (subway). I could tell that the couple maintaing the stand were thrilled. I've seen it at the University of BC from time to time, but first time I've seen it downtown.

by besunny inhi everyone, the last couple of weeks i have been reading about meditation and have tried several times.one of the times i did a native american guided meditation and actually had a unusual experience, seeing a wolf and a man dressed in victorian clothing,of course i had my eyes closed but this was different then a dream,it wasn't scary or anything,i hope nobody thinks i'm nuts,,i was just wondering if anyone else has experience with this,,being a witness most of my life i have been checking out other forms of spirituality, and meditation has been around for thousands of years and seems beneficial to those that do it....thank you for your thoughts.

It's good for relaxation. That's it. No magical powers or supernatural insight available. Mindfulness is also pretty good in helping people with addictions and other issues. Keeps them focused on the now. Brain is pretty amazing when it's used properly.
