  it's hard for me to always stick to topic in a thread.

  maybe i have trouble with linear thinking, but sometimes someone makes a comment that sets me on a completely unrelated path.

  i've noticed that some members vigilantly watch for this and warn when a comment is off-topic or when the thread has strayed far from the originally stated topic.

  Just thinking about my weekend. It has been fun so far. Last night I got something for dinner with the BF, then went to the casino, didn't lose. This morning I went to a zumba class with a friend. It kicked my butt. Speaking of butts, I have not been liking the way mine has looked lately, so I have been more determined to lose a couple of pounds and I have. So I have a little more kick in my step from that! Going to Target in a little bit to get something for my friend, it was her bday last week and we are celebrating it tonight by a bug group of us going to a comedy club and dinner thing, then we have a VIP room for martini's and probably dancing and stuff. So mama is going to maybe head out to the mall and see if I can find a new shirt or something. Had some chicken breast for lunch and loads of Franks Red hot on it. Yum. Tomorrow will be a nice relaxing day. Nothing planned. AND the most beautiful snowflakes are coming down right now. They are the fluffiest things I have ever seen. Not like we need any more snow though.

  my dad ticked me off the other night, to the point i had to hang up.

  i didn't abruptly hang up, but rather i told him i had company.

  we were discussing a sister at my hall who did something years ago.

  ok i was just blown away when i heard this today while driving, at first i thought it was the some old same old but then it went on and it seems like it is on a different level.. the subheading is "guard your heart by exercising self-control.

  on page 27 par 17 it says "one way a person could wonder into the foolish course of the "young man in want of heart" is by aimlessly flipping though television channels or surfing the internet.

  whether intentionally or not, he might chance upon sexually stimulating scenes.

  What is it with all the men waking up but the wives stay in? Why is it the opposite for me?

  this is something i've thought about for a while now.

  it seems like the same story on this board over and over--the husband, who also might be an elder, ms, etc.--starts having doubts and researching, aka miseryloveselders and franklin massey and others.

  he starts to smell the coffee and realizes that this organization isn't what it claims to be.

  I have been wondering the exact same thing and thought about starting a similar thread a few days ago.

  I have no idea. I bet women are afraid. Afraid it will jeaopardize their families, and their financial security. But many would love to split from the org.

  the reason i asked this is because i'm going to the funeral of a man who wasn't a jw.

  my mother-in-law has lived in the same neighborhood as him for years and knows his wife.

  i asked her if she was going attend the funeral service.

  Most definitely. I recally when my ex and I were in marriage counseling some of the JW issues were on the forefront and afterwards he would tell me that it was painful for him to hear me explain the JW teachings to the counselor. It was almost like an unspoken word that I understood. He wanted me to soften it up somehow. But I told it like it was and it made him squirm inside.

  I recall being totally turned off by many of the teachings and hated to have to stand up for it or explain it.

  as a born in jw, i've always believed that jehovah had no beginning per say.

  at the same time i've had the house and watch having a creator argument stamped within my brain for use against evolutionists.

  some days its difficult rationalising god's existance as having always been, with everything else needing to be created by him.

  I read that several pirates were dead too. Happened during "negotiations." Very scary indeed. These people gambled with their lives. I read they had encountered well known pirate infested waters near Thailand (I think) and they traveled with some kind of security. Wonder why they did not this time?
