ok, so as most know, this is the weekend of the "special talk" .... if anyone is going to the k hall, please shaer your thoughts on what makes is "so special".... i bet it will be more recycled same same.... "god loves you, he hates violence, he hates bad things happening to good people, he wants you all to be jw memebers...or he will kill you all at the big loving armageddon!!!!!!!

Now that you mention it, females are often called to the stage to give their experiences. Of course it's a form of preaching to the congregation but the org. just ignores this for the sake of having a heart warming, tear jerking, ear ticklying story being told.

Mom is coming over tomorrow. What should I ask?

my mother is visiting us again tomorrow, only 5 weeks since her last visit.

things seem to be going pretty well with her, and the kids are enjoying having grandma back in our routine.

she is retiring at the end of may (age 65), so she promises that this is going to mean more time with family.

You are such a loving daughter faithful witness, it's great that you are in a position to be able to help her, it has been well worth the study you've put in.

"My brother in law is an MS (new development), and says that the local congregations are trying to stake claims for the better parking structures" They really are no better than anyone else but I would think the elders themselves are behind this display of greediness.

It does seem strange and wrong.

They use the bible for their own convenience. I don't doubt they thought up this new arrangement and then found some bible versus to support it.

What is really strange about this new arrangement is that the appointment is left up to only one man. They are so firm in sticking to their two witness policy and that should be a warning to them as to why leaving these appointments up to one man is wrong.

This statement is even worse than calling apostates mentally diseased. This is certainly a display of the most unchristian behaviour possible.

In the example of the disfellowshipped mother's son and daughter who phoned her after obeying the shunning command given at an assembly, they emphasized that they still loved her. They can't help themselves in giving out mixed messages.

I've seen the first part of this quote a number of times but not the rest of it. It's funny to see all these ideas, unique to JWs as being necessary to believe. They really believe that this is a requirement to be considered a true christian by Jesus Christ. Their use of the term 'true teachings of the Bible' is so dishonest.

the new revised larger print nwt bibles (nwtls-e) are being distributed now.. the margins are quite big in contrast to the skinny text columns.. the same fanciful mini-study material at the beginning and ends.. .

Ah, the perks of living in the Western World. I was just reading from a JW missionary in Guinea how new bible studies who must show they are sincere and attend meetings still have to wait for 3 months before recieving a bible.

The suggestion here is that the organization is deliberately stopping the emblems from being provided to South African congregations. This is because he says that the increase in partakers is coming mostly from this area.

The GB could have said to place the emblems on a table, maybe at the front of the hall, but they chose not to. If no one was partaking then there would be no reason not to provide these emblems. It also means that the GB aren't even bothered to get an accurate number of partakers.
