They knew the generation teaching had failed and they had two choices, change the meaning of generation or change the start date of 1914. They were so determined to keep the start date that they performed mental acrobatics in coming up with their new definition of generation.

GB Doesnt Believe in 1914 Anymore My reasoning
by thedepressedsoul ini have heard a lot of talk over the last year or so if the gb will eventually ditch 1914 and some have even made the claim that most, if not all of the gb do not believe in 1914. ive given this some thought and in the past i wasnt sure.
this annual meeting puts 100%, without a doubt in my mind that the gb do not believe in 1914. id even go as far to say that they talked about that date and have a game plan in mind.. here is why i feel this way:.
there were a lot of changes with the parables at this annual meeting.

Could it be the number of jw under 5 million?
by Crazyguy ini was thinking about this last night, in the year book they publish the number or peak and average publishers.
as we know a publisher could simply be a child getting out in service regularly.
if two parents baptized have to small children that are publishers then they are counted as four.

They announced at this years annual meeting that they could now officially report that the number of JWs was now over the 8 million mark. The GB member couldn't contain himself when he was talking about the field service figures from August but the actual figures would take a little longer to calculate.

The GB members are always saying how much they love their followers and yet they turn around and are very critical of some Brothers who are not able to defend themselves.
Even though we do not know what happened, any of the brothers of that branch would know as it appears that Anthony Morris III was not, and has not been discreet about the situation.
When you have an organization starting to turn on itself then you know that it only encourages followers to leave.

At 3.16.32 of the recorded meeting. "What role do those with an earthly hope play? OH oh ho Veeeery important role, very important. This illustration, the sheep and the goats teaches us that those with the earthly hope have the honor of loyally supporting Christ’s brothers I remember telling a friend of mine once where i wasn’t treated too well in this particular Branch territory, and I said to my friend, well it’s not me they need to worry about, it’s my Big Brother, THAAATS who they better worry about. Yeh, hmm, we had to pray for those brothers over there, (LAUGHS)."
In other words - you bully, you better be nice to me or I'll stick my big brother onto you.
It would appear that the Branch wasn't co-operating with the wishes of the GB.
How sick is it that one of the very top leaders of this organization get's on a stage before hundreds of his followers and damns a Branch of it's very own organization. What a snake. He points the finger within his own organization and says that they will have to worry about Jesus' judgement. All through the public talk the GB members talk about the wicked slave as being hypotherical as well as various other mentions of wickedness in other parables, it just doesn't relate to them.

it just seems weird that they have allowed a woman to star in this very prominant role.

Dalerivers Listener, I just watched that video twice (curses)and I saw women giving comments, women in the KH audience, but no woman actually presenting the info, though I obviously heard her voice. Did we see the same video?
I'm pretty sure it is the same video. A female is presenting to the viewer, all the way through the video, what takes place in Kingdom Halls. You can't see her.
This video has just been released and I cannot find another video on JW org where they have a female presenter.

I guess they see this as a preaching work to the public and not a teaching work to other JWs and therefore is okay for a woman to perform. However, JW org is for both public preaching and personal JW teaching, just as they would recieve in the congregations. The organization is dullying the line between what is now acceptable for a JW female.

JW.ORG REPORTS THE WATCHTOWER RESPONSE TO EBOLA
by NAVYTOWN ini just checked the jw.org website and noticed an article about the jw response to ebola.
as i suspected, the entire focus was on alerting and educating jw members about ebola.just like in other disaster situations, the jw organization almost exclusively assists it's own members, ignoring the general public.
it seems their main concern is keeping their members healthy so they can continue to spread the jw message door to door!!!

Thanks for the link, it details a JC in the Fenton congregation. I hope he decides to record his appeal trial.
This was a good comment made in his appeal letter
..."I understand that it is possible that you brothers are not familiar with the scriptures or articles
dealing with the heavenly hope since none of you claim to be brothers to Christ Jesus, nor have
you received the witness of the spirit. Therefore, it is my request that the brothers who will
preside over my Appeal Hearing be other mature anointed brothers who have insight into these
matters and can give me a fair hearing regarding how I should conduct myself in connection with
my hope..."
I wouldn't be surprised if it was the owner of the site that had just gone through this JC.
