No they don't. Up until around 1950 they used to teach it was appropriate to worship Jesus but now say it is wrong. -

We just bought one and any are still trying to connect it. It does not have WiFi capabilities so you need a cable to connect it to a device. My son is trying to connect t it to another modem which has WiFi but hasn't figured out how to do it yet.
Our is only 500mbs and won't reach anywhere near that speed but he says that is sufficient for what we need. There are some good reviews for the gigabit ones.

Welcome Cold Dodger.
What a coincidence....or was it??? :) I was just looking at an ex Mormon Forum yesterday to get some idea of what sort of issues an ex Mormon faces.
What stood out to me was how the problems that leaving or not supporting the Mormon teachings effect the family, particularly marriage partners. It seems that it has the same effect as it does within the JW religion. It tears them apart so often. The partner that wants to remain in the religion seems to be the one that is responsible for initiating separation and divorce in most cases. Given that they are supposed to be the spiritually strong one it demonstrates that the religion is more cultish and entrapping than it is christian.
Within the JW religion there are two separate classes, with there being two hopes. There is one class that believe they are anointed and have a heavenly hope when they die, they will then become Kings and Priests. Before around the year 1935 all JWs were of this class and they teach that there will only be 144,000 in it. As the number of JWs grew the President at that time decided to create this second class who have an earthly hope of everlasting life. They strongly encourage JWs to consider themselves as being of the earthly class. Today there are approximately 12,000 who call themselves anointed. It is quite mysterious as to how individuals know they are anointed but the leaders at the top, called the Governing Body (comprising 7 men currently) all claim to be anointed.
We are so lucky today to have the internet where experiences can be shared and false doctrines are exposed.

Video: "Iron Sharpens Iron"
by wifibandit inhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=joehewofiba.
is this supposed to placate the ones who have been recently fired?
is this a sign of the aging jw leadership?

It's more than just a retirement for these men, they've been demoted and their power has been watered down. They will probably keep their positions as an Elder in their congregation but that's about it. -

Should I be mad?
by kairos ini've been df'd for about six weeks now.no one has broken the obligation to "honor the disfellowshipping decree".that's the way notorious co paul kohler describes the "loving arrangement" that is jw shunning.
( just "serving" napa ).
so, my wife's family has been "loving me" ( barf ) when out of nowhere, one of them sends home homemade soup for me.... well, i got super pissed.

I thought you only send soup to someone when they are sick. You send cake or biscuits as a friendly gift. -

It annoys me when I hear that this is tough on Bethel. What's so tough about it? It should be a time when they can shine with humility, compassion and reflection on getting things right. It is nothing compared to the pain and suffering experienced by the victims. -

Construction Halts & other cutbacks - Here's what I think happened
by Listener into get to the point straight away i think the crane accident that occurred at warwick was a significant catalyst that has caused the org.
to change its plans suddenly.. list of assumptions, not all of them are validated.
- there was a serious crane accident that occurred at warwick approx.

Your points are noted Searcher and thanks. If your assumption is correct it is even more irresponsible of the Organization to now find themselves in this position. They must have had their heads buried in the sand for years now hoping that the problem would go away, or even worse, think that God was going to fix it for them even though they have been in charge.
I think it helps to consider facts and unverified information to try to come to some explanation because the society is not forthcoming with any information of substance. They've even tried to divert attention away from these matters by giving mixed messages and giving themselves a new image.

I agree TheOldHippie, it doesn't read like a typical JW org letter. It is supposedly written by the chiefs of the Warwick Construction Group 8 to the volunteers within that group. There must be a lot of communications within these groups.
Regarding the Warwick accident, there are no official reports. The report appears to be first mentioned on JW archive. According to that report a crane carrying a wall fell to the ground and the crane driver was injured.
Another problem that they have is the site contamination and they commenced court procedures for reimbursement of costs incurred in cleanup and restitution costs. This action began in June 2015. There has been no news since then.
