  i cannot believe the difference in my vision.

  even with glasses my vision in the left eye was poor.

  but i can now read a 12 font fairly clearly without the glasses.

  I know several people who have had the surgery and are thrilled with the improvement.

  I have had just about everything you can imagine done to my right eye (except cataract) and I would do it again. Eye surgery conjures up the idea of the most excruciating pain but in fact it is not. Now, ingrown toenail surgery is something else.

  Women: Are they Equal to Men ?

  one of the hard core doctrines of the wt society, and many other religions, is that women are to be in "subjection" to men.. in the bible, in genisis , it says the domination of women by men came after adam and eve disobeyed god.

  eve was cursed by pain in childbirth and that from then on as a curse: "he shall rule over you " from then on the male was to dominate the female.. but that was not in the original plan.

  this was a reversal of the plan and a curse.

  we already have super-computers scanning our trips to shopping malls, along freeways and highways and traffic intersections.

  Growing up a Jehovah's witness I got used to the idea of a big drone in the sky watching my every move and keeping a tab on whether or not to squash me like a bug at any moment.

  Guess I'll have to get used to it. Maybe I'll just wave the middle finger at the sky once in a while.

  sewage is the real poblem. The sanitation systems work fine on these floating cities as long as power is at a level to deal with it. When mechanical problems arise it can quickly turn to a nightmare. 4000 people each create about 3 pounds of solid and liquid waste per day, X4000= 12,000 lb (6 tons).

  Once things go awry you have noro virus running rampant, diarreah, vomiting, fever. It becomes a pandemic in a confined environment.

  This has been happening much too frequently in recent years. The ships and their owners have gotten sloppy with maintenance and upkeep.

  Is the grass greener on the other side?

  hi all.... so my mom phoned me up this morning and said she needed to talk to me about something.

  she asked me whether or not our (worldly) family thought that my husband and i were witnesses anymore.

  one, someone in my family said to her, "i didn't know you guys wear short dresses like that" - commenting on a slightly above the knee dress i had worn to a family event.

  You have come face to face with the ultimate responsibility of all adults. Those with young children are even more aware that life is in your hands.

  Do you consider yourself moral people with decent ethics? Do you feel capable of imparting a good example to your kids?

  Would you like to turn all those pesky decisions over to some religious authority figure so you can "relax" and just follow the rules?

  Jehovah's Witnesses are just one choice. There are many churches that offer a basic stable framework that can help you navigate your family through the jungle of human life we all live in.

  First things first. What do you believe? Not about armageddon, christmas or birthdays, but about right and wrong?

  The children you mentioned above that you observe everyday, who are not behaving in a way you want your son to behave. Maybe they are just acting out. Your son is not an orphan because you are not a JW. There are ways of life that have a positive influence that doesn't involve high control cults.

  PS I must add, Berengaria has raised a couple of the finest young people you would ever want to know.

  i couldn't find that it said where this was taken, but i'm guessing it's in myanmar as that is the featured country in the yearbook.

  New Pope will be named Peter

  i remember reading somewhere in regards to a a 'prophet' of sorts who had predicted all the popes that have been chosen.. his 'prophecy' stated that the next pope (since benedict has resigned) would be the last before the 'end' would come.

  his name would be pope peter.. let's see what happens.

  we are suppose to know who the next pope will be before easter..
