Posters in the UK, a trivial question....
by Glander ini was reading a novel by a british author, robert goddard.
i have read several of his books but in this one, "past caring" he spells the word "connexion" instead of "connection".
i had never seen that spelling before.

Electric kettles are all pretty simple appliances and are considered 'disposable', that is, not worth repairing. If you get a couple of years service out of a toaster or e. kettle, you can probable pick up another one for $20.00 or so. why not just find a well made stove top kettle?
I am the wrong person to ask about GE home appliances. I have had very dissapointing reliability from them. Two weeks ago our 5 yr old GE side by side ref/frz with door water/ice, etc. went out for the second time in 6 months. The repairman said it is not worth fixing. We bought a new Whirlpool that we love. A refrigerator that doesn't last ten years is junk.
Hope this is helpful,
Your brother in the grace of the shed blood of our Lord Jesus Christ,
G.
or as Flipper would say, "peace out!"

NC, as someone above alluded to, you seem kind of brittle.
My only comment here is that you have plunged into the POLITICAL arena here with both feet. You have a understandable personal interest in the public health care discussion and you have expressed your feelings very strongly. Strongly enough that those who don't as you do respond with the same level of conviction. I used to be pretty rough on you until I became aware of your personal circumstances. I apologized to you and I was reminded to be a little softer than I have been in the past. I thank you for that.
I don't know if this has any relevance to your opening post here.
You are a good person.

I was reading a novel by a British author, Robert Goddard. I have read several of his books but in this one, "Past Caring" he spells the word "CONNEXION" instead of "CONNECTION". I had never seen that spelling before. I looked it up and it is a proper spelling, with the notation, "chiefly British".
Anyway, it got me to thinking about other words and the uncertainty I sometimes have as to spelling words like- theater/theatre, or, color/colour, etc.
... is this the most interesting thread you have ever read in your whole life, or what?
mmmm... should I just dump it...or submit....
oh, what the hell...

OK folks, do you know your southern language?
by jam inwhen i served where the need is great, i wrote down some.
of the most amazing phrase that people say in the south.. straight to the point.. a few that i found.
guess what is being said.. 1) as easy as sliding off a greasy log backward.. 2)busy as a stump-tailed cow in fly time.. 3)either fish or cut bait.. 4)even a blind hog finds an acorn now and then.. 5)happy as a dead pig in the sunshine.

Who or what are you most angry at, when it comes to your situation in relation to JW Org?
by BreathoftheIndianNose ini've been receiving very bitter messages from jws i know, mostly my mother, but also others that know how to contact me electronically.
sometimes i find myself mad at her, though not displaying it.
but i know it's really not her or my fathers fault.

"hate" and "angry" are not the same. I am not angry at anyone, but I hate what the WTB&TS calls the "Governing Body". They are evil. They create doctrines that can destroy a persons very life and then change it when it is beneficial to them.
The self-serving disfellowshipping practices they have created are a monstrous cruelty that have reverberations that are nothing less than horrific to thousands of good people.

Simple answer, please! Scientifically explain the origin of life coming from nothing!
by Silent_Scream inscientific method asserts nothing living can come from something non-living.
science is observable, science is reproducible.
a living thing coming from non-living matter has never been observed nor reproduced.. therefore, it takes faith in an unknown process to believe that that's exactly what happened in the beginning, with no evidence!.

Silent scream,
Since I can't explain it scientifically are you saying that this proves a supernatural God originated life? Okay, if that is the case, I think it is only fair to ask you what God has been doing since? Like, what is He doing right now? There are many questions but I have yet to hear any legitimate answers.
I don't know you. Perhaps you are only interested in the creation question and have no further religous agenda
How did life start?... is not the real question.
