You ever go through extended moments where nothing satisfies you, to the point you wouldn't mind dying?
by miseryloveselders indon't get me wrong, this isn't a call for help or anything like that.
i'm not about to do anything stupid, just feeling a little down and exhausted tonight.
i feel defeated, even though i don't feel as if i'm battling anything.

Miseryloveselders, sometimes I feel that way,Look Im 20 and I feel that sometimes life is passing me by.We all go through that.I recommend you read J.D salingers Catcher in the Rye which is about a teenagers trying to maintain his childhood innoncence. As I get older, I realize too also people suck, you just have to learn how to deal with people. I hope the best for you.Life may be rough, but remember things could always be worse.

My personal thoughts on Ray Franz
by Terry inthe death of ray franz hit me harder than i would have thought.. i had to reflect for awhile....alone......and quietly.. .
after all, fine people die every day and some of them are indispensable, yet, we go on....don't we?.
but, ray franz was something that can only be described in the phrase sui generis (one of a kind).. my task was to ask myself what it was that made ray so singular, potent and admirable without a trace of scandal or ill will attached to his memory.. .

"The God of the Old Testament is arguably the most unpleasant character...
by digderidoo in...in all fiction:jealous and proud of it; petty, unjust, unforgiving, control freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty, ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevent bully.
", says richard dawkins in the god delusion p51.
he goes on to say, "those of us schooled from infancy in his ways can become desensitized to their horror".. would you agree?.

Yes I agree the God of the Old Testament is very cruel and extremely bloodthirsy, ask yourself What did the children in the bible do to deserve death. I want to quote the now late George Carlin "Religion has actually convinced people that there's an invisible man-living in the sky- who watches everything you do, every minute of every day.And the invisible man has a special list of ten things he does not want you to do.And if you do any of these ten things he has a special place, full of fire and smoke and burning and torture and anguish, where he will send you to live and suffer and burn and choke and scream and cry forever and ever' til the end of time... but he loves you and he needs Money"(George Carlin).
Now tell me is God not only blood thristy but he also greedy and selfcentered and does not really care about anybody except himself.

Richard Dawkins forum
by zoiks inare there any posters here who also read and/or post on the forums at richard-dawkins.net?
it seems as though a large number of xjws post there.
there are some really good and thought provoking points made, from a slightly different perspective.. just wondering!.

Yes I have read the God Delusion I absolutely loved it.The book was very well writen and it provides evidence and studies on many issues. One studie that it talks that I liked was the Prower of prayer and how prayer really does not help.I am hoping to read more of his books and gain a better insight into how God does not exist. One chapeter he discusses how children should not be labeled as Muslim child or Catholic child.I agree a child should make their own choice not have their parents beliefs shoved down their throat.By the way does anybody know Richard Dawkins Email address.I want to email him to say thank you for opening up my eyes and seeing that God is truly a myth, lie and a hinderance towards human progression.

Nobody wants to live in paradise
by eric356 ini've got some probably-not-so-original musings about why nobody would actually want to "live forever on a paradise earth.
" these are the sorts of things that probably make every jw kid (or adult) have some doubts, because the problems are so obvious.
the standard jw answer of "it doesn't say in the bible what will happen, we'll see when we get there" or "wait for the new scrolls to be opened" are totally inadequate because the problems involve the very concept of eternal life in paradise.

Paradise just like hell is a state of mind. Both are not phyiscal tangible things.

Fake Knock and Other Sneaky Tactics During Field Service
by sacolton inyeah, i hated "field circus".
i don't like bothering people on saturday mornings about the latest watchtower & awake magazines and try to convert them from their religon to become a jehovah's witness.
so, what i did was just wait until the group passes by and fake knocked.
-
d
I too also used the fake door knocking techinque I remeber when I gave my first field service presenation, talk about being nervous..Field service was nothing but pure torture.I'm pretty sure all of you on this post agree.I mean seriously was field service EVER fun.
