Thank you PC for sharing. I never had a face in my head for God, but I'm curious to see how others envisioned this entity called Jehovah.

The Face Of Jehovah
by PublishingCult ini was one of the lucky ones (sarcasm).
i was born into the cult of the publishing corporation.
my earliest childhood memories are tangled horribly with the sights and sounds a kingdom hall.

Is there any way to show a parallel to this video with the WT? Are there any receipts like with Benny Hinn?

The Soul
by free2beme inso we were all taught basically this thought.
the soul is our life, not seperate and not something that moves on when we die, right?
yet, for those who die and get ressurected, jehovah remembers them and makes them come to life with their memories, personalities, appearance and so on, right?

If, in the 144k's case, 'person' does not = 'soul,' what about the rest of humanity's nature?
I asked my conductor that one too. He said that, in the case of the 144K, they die, cease to exist, just like anyone else. However, "in the twinkling of an eye," new immortal spirit beings are created in heaven with the same memories and personality traits corresponding to those individuals. He said these spirit beings are -not- souls because they are immortal - they cannot die. The people in the paradise earth will be souls - it will still be possible for them to die if they sin - Jehovah will kill them instantly. However, the 144K spirit beings in heaven can never die because they are immortal.
BTW, I agree that this all sounds like cloning, and when the WT introduces the idea of cloning, they create a problem when one naturally asks if the copy is the original.

The real Big A - the writing on the wall
by Nickolas inwhat's happening geologically recently seems to be bringing out the sandwich boards and doomsday proclaimers.
signs of the end of the world?
not likely, at least not in the scriptural sense.

Is there anything similar in the past to compare this to?

I think someone should define "clone" to help the discussion. I don't have time at the moment.

Wanted to get reinstated... Almost ready to give up
by headisspinning ini'd like to hear from anyone who was disfellowshipped but fully intended to go back as soon as possible and how that worked out or didn't.
i'd like to hear how soon you went back to meetings, how many letters requesting reinstatement you wrote, how you were treated, and how long it took you to get bitter and jaded.... or in the off chance you had a positive experience, what exactly happened.. really struggling here... thanks!.

AnnOMaly: I asked my study conductor that question. He said Jehovah can create life, any kind of life. In the case of the 144K, he creates spiritual life for them. He creates spiritual bodies for them with the various memories & personality traits unique to each of them.

Apostasy and Df question

about his doubt.. the elders question him, he remains firm, he tell the brothers, i have.

The scenario in the OP is interesting. The man could say "This new doctrine is not something I signed up for. I made my original decision and commitment based on the previous doctrine. Now the leaders switched something on me. That's not fair." I wonder if the elders would see his point and empathize with his predicament. I think the categories of DF or DA are too harsh for someone in that situation. They should have a category for old-timers who still believe what they signed up for - like grandfather laws for building codes - if the building was built according to the old code, it can still pass inspection, but any new buildings have to follow the new code. LOL :)
